The role
As an incoming Nurse Specialist, you are an important link in our organization. You want to make a difference and you want your work to be seen and appreciated. You want to make progress every day, even if the steps are sometimes small. At Vincent van Gogh for mental health and Centiv, you will get this opportunity. We have four training positions for the training to become a Mental Health Nurse Specialist (Master-ANP) at Zuyd University of Applied Sciences in Heerlen.
What you'll do
The training lasts two years and combines working and learning. As a Nurse Specialist, you play an important role in improving the quality and costs of healthcare. We are looking for nurses who can combine practical experience and theoretical knowledge at an academic level to improve care. You will learn to work with Evidence Based Practice, Best Practice, and care that is tailored to the individual patient. You will also learn how to develop and implement solutions for problems in practice.
We know that mental healthcare can be done differently, but we don't have a blueprint for it yet. As a Nurse Specialist in training, you will tackle the challenges of this era head-on. In doing so, you don't think in boxes, but out of the box. Together with our chain partners and the social network, you will look for new solutions and aim to improve patient care.
What makes your position special?
As a Nurse Specialist in mental healthcare, you have wonderful challenges and an enormous opportunity to develop yourself. You are a managing practitioner and a connecting link between the nursing team and the medical domain. You are responsible for direct patient care, with a focus on screening, diagnostics, and treatment. You work closely with other practitioners such as psychiatrists, psychologists, and other disciplines.
What are the possibilities after the training?
After completing the training, there are many possibilities. You can work with various target groups, such as children, adults, people with an addiction, people with an intellectual disability, or the elderly. You can work within Specialist Mental Healthcare and Basic Mental Healthcare.
