In addition, you will work in a practice where innovation, quality, and sustainability are important pillars.

The role

For AniCura Dierenziekenhuis Stroowaert, we are looking for an enthusiastic, graduated veterinary nurse with some experience who wants to grow further in a modern veterinary hospital environment. With us, high-quality care, personal development, and teamwork are central. You will get plenty of room to work independently, take responsibility, and further develop yourself.

What you'll do

In this versatile role, you will receive a lot of independence and responsibility. You are an important link within the team and will be given the space to further expand your knowledge and skills.

Your duties include:

  • Reception duties

  • Supporting veterinarians during surgery and other procedures

  • Supporting consultations and examinations

  • Care and monitoring of admitted patients

  • Anesthesia assistance

  • Laboratory work

  • Advising and guiding clients

  • Independently performing veterinary nurse consultations

During independent consultations, you will, for example, assist patients with chronic conditions. Think of osteoarthritis, kidney, and thyroid consultations. Through this, you play an important role in the long-term care and well-being of our patients.

You will work from our three locations and are deployable at all sites. However, the focus of your activities lies in our Veterinary Hospital in Oud-Beijerland. Additionally, we provide a large part of our own emergency services. We also have Saturday clinic hours, in which all veterinary nurses participate.

We have, among other things:

  • Modern operating rooms

  • An inpatient department

  • A CT scan

  • Animal-friendly admission facilities

  • A specialized oncology department

We are looking for someone who feels comfortable in an environment where a lot of secondary care is provided and who wants to further develop in this area.

Who are we looking for?

You are an enthusiastic and qualified veterinary nurse with some experience, who gains energy from both collaborating and working independently. You feel comfortable in an environment where high-quality primary and secondary care is provided and you enjoy further developing yourself in this field.

Additionally, you recognize yourself in the following:

  • You have graduated as a veterinary nurse

  • You have some work experience as a veterinary nurse

  • You are customer- and animal-friendly

  • You communicate easily and professionally

  • You remain calm under pressure and can switch tasks well

  • You take responsibility and work independently

  • You are flexibly deployable and can work at all three of our locations

  • You are willing to participate in the emergency services

  • You are flexibly deployable for the Saturday clinic hours

  • You are flexibly deployable during holidays and sickness of colleagues

  • You have your own transport and preferably live in the region

Progressive in veterinary medicine and sustainability

In addition to high-quality veterinary care, we actively invest in a sustainable future. Our efforts were recognized in 2021 with the AniCura Sustainability Award, a beautiful confirmation of our ambition to continuously improve. Sustainability is also an important theme within our practice. Our practice manager is actively involved in De Groene Veterinair as a board member.

Ready for your next step?

Do you want to work in a progressive veterinary hospital where quality, development, independence, and sustainability come together? Do you feel at home in an environment with a lot of secondary care and does it appeal to you to further develop yourself in this?

Then we would love to meet you!
