The role

As a Geriatric Medicine Specialist, you are responsible for the medical care and treatment of our clients. You work with various target groups within elderly care, including psychogeriatrics, chronic somatic care, geriatric rehabilitation, palliative care, and primary care.

What you'll do

You work independently and also collaborate intensively with colleagues from various disciplines. Your responsibilities include:

· Medical diagnostics, treatment, and the creation of treatment plans;

· Multidisciplinary consultation regarding the care and treatment of clients;

· Primary care consultations and collaboration with GPs and hospitals in the region;

· Supervision of AIOS (residents), medical interns, and nurse practitioners in training;

· Contributing ideas to the development and improvement of our medical care.

You are a committed Geriatric Medicine Specialist who enjoys collaborating and, at the same time, takes independent responsibility for the medical care of clients.

Furthermore:

· You have completed the training to become a Geriatric Medicine Specialist;

· You are registered in the BIG register;

· You communicate and collaborate easily with different disciplines;

· You enjoy thinking along about improving and developing elderly care.

About the company & team

You will become part of the treatment service of Stichting Humanitas in Rotterdam. Here, more than 70 colleagues work within the medical and paramedical service.

Within the medical team, you will work together with, among others, geriatric medicine specialists, doctors, AIOS, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners. Additionally, you will work multidisciplinarily with, for example, psychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and other practitioners.
