What you'll do

As a Care Assistant, you work in a challenging environment where elderly care and psychiatry intersect. You provide care and guidance to the elderly and assist them with ADLs.

Requirements

You have completed a level 2 care assistant in welfare qualification;
You have a heart that beats for elderly care;
You have courage, perseverance, and humor;
You are willing to learn and motivate others toward new challenges;
To be eligible for this position, a positive Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) is required;
Checking references and verifying diplomas are part of the application procedure.

About the company & team

As a Care Assistant within Overloonseweg 6, your work is different every day! You can make the difference for our clients and their environment. Elderly care within psychiatry is a challenging work environment: psychiatry and somatics come together here. This requires care and guidance for our clients.

Within the Elderly Cluster - Long-term Care, you work in one of the various departments: Overloonseweg 6 A & D, Overloonseweg 6 E & F, and Vincentiushof. The target group consists of clients aged 65 and older. They have their own bedroom and use a communal living room for meals. Additionally, they can participate in various activities. The clients live with us long-term and have a need for a stable, safe environment in which their possibilities and wishes are central.

Together with your colleagues, you support a small group of eight clients per department. You support them with activities of daily living (ADL), such as helping with showering, providing meals, keeping the interior in order, but also guiding behavior when necessary. Alongside psychiatric issues, physical care often also plays a role, making your work versatile and substantively rich. You offer guidance and somatic support, tailored to what someone needs. Not only physically, but also socially and emotionally, with irregular working hours.

With your professionalism, perseverance, humor, and enjoyment, we build a pleasant working environment together. Your involvement and expertise have an impact on the well-being of our clients. In our department, we work from optimism and team spirit: clear communication, collegiality, and safety are central to this.
