About VIGO

In their own words

About the company & team

Continued Treatment Team 3 is ready for a maximum of 22 clients, men and women with an age of 30 to 65 years. It is a closed ward for intensive guidance and treatment. For each client, it is assessed whether a place downstairs or upstairs is appropriate. Our clients are admitted here voluntarily or by force with a Care Order (Zorgmachtiging).

To create a good image of the ward, we would like to take you along to see what it looks like. The ward consists of a ground floor and an upper floor. The ground floor consists of 10 rooms, a communal living room and garden, the medication room, and the nursing station. On the upper floor, we have 11 rooms, each of which is equipped with its own kitchenette. We also have a seclusion room. This can be used when a crisis is imminent for a client staying within the ward, but also for clients from other wards on the site.

The clients staying with us have been diagnosed with various conditions. The majority of the clients have a dual diagnosis. This means that in addition to their clinical picture, clients also struggle with an addiction, such as alcohol, drugs, or gambling. We take the client's clinical picture into account, but look at what is still possible despite any potential limitations. We therefore work from the client's possibilities and search together with the client for, for example, daily activities/work. Our activities consist of, for example, cooking together, guidance to daily activities/work, outings, hospital visits, support during therapy, personal guidance, etc.

Together with a multidisciplinary team, we look at which form of guidance and/or treatment best suits our clients. A consultation takes place every week in which we discuss all clients individually and, if necessary, make or adjust plans. As a ward, we find it important that the client and normal life take precedence.

Our team consists of a team leader, 2 care coordinators, nurses, supervisors, and healthcare assistants (verzorgende IG). We work closely with the nurse practitioner and the psychiatrist. Within Vincent van Gogh, we can call upon other disciplines when necessary, such as a GP, physiotherapy, behavioral expert, psychologist, etc. The lines with these disciplines are short, allowing us to switch easily.

Within this 24-hour care, you work day, evening, and weekend shifts, so you do NOT work night shifts. Night care is provided by our specialized night care team.
