Do you truly want to help young people move forward and gain experience in a professional and warm youth care environment? Then this internship position in Deurne is for you! During the interview, it will be determined whether you will work in an open group or within JeugdzorgPlus. Both offer a unique target group and learning environment.

In the open groups, you will focus on young people with, among other things, autism, ADHD, or attachment issues. The guidance here is open, activating, and strongly focused on conversation techniques. You will work extensively with young people on becoming aware of their own choices, behavior, and the consequences thereof. Together, you will investigate what works for them, how they can increase their independence, and how they can deal with daily challenges. Talent development, insight, reflection, and practicing social skills play a major role.

In these groups, you will guide young people with complex issues, such as trauma, behavioral disorders, autism, loverboy issues, intellectual disabilities (LVB), or psychiatric vulnerabilities. The environment is more private and intensive, but precisely because of that, it is an enormously educational place. You will work together with a close-knit team on recovery, safety, and future prospects, and you will sometimes see young people taking great steps.

Here, the focus lies much more strongly on clear structure, safety, and predictability. The parental role is more emphatically present: you offer closeness, boundaries, and stability, and work step-by-step toward recovery and future prospects. You help young people rebuild basic skills, regulate emotions, and develop confidence, always within a well-structured daily routine.

Wherever you do your internship, you are part of the team. You will learn how to support young people in their daily lives and how to provide structure, safety, and closeness. Your responsibilities will include:

• guiding group activities;

• individual guidance and conversations;

• practicing social skills and independence;

• contributing to care plans;

• collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.

You will be given the space to develop yourself, ask questions, and discover what kind of mentor you want to become.

You are able to work in a group- and team-oriented manner and you possess reflective skills. You are also proactive and enjoy rolling up your sleeves. Additionally:

• At the start of the internship, you are in the 3rd or 4th year of a relevant mbo 4 (e.g., Social Pedagogical Worker, Social Work, Social Care Worker, or similar) or hbo degree (e.g., Pedagogy, Social Work, Applied Psychology, or similar).

• At the start of the internship, you are at least 20 years old;

• You have an affinity for the target group;

• You are willing to work irregular hours (having your own transport is helpful).

We offer an educational internship in which you can optimally develop yourself, both personally and professionally. You will do your internship in a beautiful working environment with an informal and collegial atmosphere, with a team that stands for the target group.

• The CAO Jeugdzorg applies. Every intern receives an internship allowance of €625 per month (based on 32 hours per week);

• Guidance by a permanent supervisor within the team;

• A clear and methodical concept from which guidance and leadership are provided;

• Internship period starting from February 2027 for at least 10 months.
