The role
Do you want to make a difference for young people with an extra need for structure and stimuli regulation? At our small-scale open treatment group De Graaf, we offer a safe and stimulating environment in which they can grow. We are looking for an experienced youth care worker to strengthen our close-knit team. Are you the right person?
The goal of De Graaf is for young people to learn to deal with their challenges and possibilities, so that they can function better in the world around them.
Your role, your challenge
Open treatment group De Graaf is a small-scale open treatment group for young people who need structure, predictability, and a low-stimulus living environment. Often, their emotional development does not align with their chronological age. Therefore, we do not only look at behavior, but especially at the need lying beneath it and what a young person needs to be able to develop optimally.
From a safe and stable foundation, we stimulate young people to discover their talents, gain new experiences, and take steps towards more independence. Talent development plays an important role in this. For example, young people participate in various activities, such as sports moments and activities from Cultural Work.
As a youth care worker, you guide young people in daily life and work purposefully towards their personal development goals. You provide structure and clarity, support with social and emotional challenges, and help young people in dealing with stimuli. Additionally, you conduct guidance interviews, maintain contact with parents and practitioners, and record developments in reports. Together with your colleagues, you create a predictable living climate in which young people feel safe and can grow.
Requirements
You are a committed and decisive professional who offers young people structure, clarity, and safety. You look beyond behavior, remain calm in challenging situations, and know how to motivate young people in their development. Additionally, you enjoy working together with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.
In addition, you bring:
A relevant completed MBO-4 education (Youth Care Worker D) or a relevant completed HBO education (Youth Care Worker C) with a valid SKJ registration.
Availability for irregular shifts, including sleep shifts.
Experience in guiding young people with a need for structure and predictability.
Knowledge of, or affinity with, methodologies such as Nieuwe Autoriteit & Verbindend Gezag.
