The role
Behind every behavior, there is a story. Do you look deeper?
As a youth care worker in Deurne, you guide young people with complex problems who temporarily require intensive help. You look beyond behavior, build trust, and are there when things get difficult. Together with a dedicated team, you work on safety, development, and perspective for our young people.
You don't choose JeugdzorgPlus because it is easy. You choose it because you specifically want to commit yourself to these young people.
Your role, your challenge
Working within JeugdzorgPlus requires more than just guidance. You work with young people who have been placed with us by a court order and temporarily require intensive help. They often face complex challenges, such as trauma, attachment issues, exploitation, and behavioral problems.
You will work in a small-scale group where, together with one other youth care worker, you are responsible for a maximum of six young people during your shift. This allows room for personal attention, customization, and building sustainable relationships.
What makes our location special is the close team culture. You work with permanent colleagues, short lines of communication, and a high level of mutual trust. We are there for each other, think along with each other, and share the responsibility for the young people. Precisely because the work is sometimes challenging, the involvement, openness, and humor within the team make the difference.
This is what you will do
You monitor the pedagogical living environment and provide young people with a stable foundation.
You create safety, structure, and predictability. Also during moments of crisis.
You work closely with parents and other parties involved with the young person, the outpatient supervisors, and the behavioral scientist.
You translate plans into daily life within the group.
You work according to the philosophy of Connecting Authority Nonviolent Resistance and other methodologies, where you take a high degree of autonomy and professionally weigh what aligns with the young person and the situation.
You participate in day, evening, and sleep shifts and are a familiar face for the young people.
"Working as a youth care worker requires flexibility and patience. It asks a lot, but you get a lot in return."

Requirements
You feel at home in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same. The complexity of the target group does not intimidate you; rather, that is where you see the challenge. You can switch gears when situations change, remain calm under pressure, and maintain focus on the young person behind the behavior. Additionally, you dare to take initiative, think in terms of possibilities, and work from a place of connection, trust, and a positive dose of humor.
In addition, you bring:
A relevant completed MBO level 4 education, such as Social Work.
Or a relevant completed HBO education, such as Pedagogy, with a valid SKJ registration.
Experience with complex target groups and behavior, gained within, for example, youth care, mental health care, disability care, or forensic care.
Availability for irregular shifts, including sleep shifts.

About VIGO
In their own words
About the company & team
Our location currently houses several JeugdzorgPlus groups, including mixed groups and girls' groups.
Additionally, our location offers many opportunities for young people to develop themselves. For example, they follow education on-site, and there is a farm and an activity center where young people can learn, discover, and work on their future.
Our colleague Bram tells us about his team: "In JeugdzorgPlus, a close team with familiar faces makes the difference for young people. On our group, we work with a very dedicated team. A nice mix of different ages makes working together fun. Knowing each other well brings peace, not just for ourselves but also for our young people."
