Giving visually impaired and blind residents with an intellectual disability a sense of home. You just do it.
If you are in a wheelchair, have an intellectual disability, and also have poor vision, you are dependent on others for many things. As a Supportive Staff Member, you are therefore indispensable. You ensure that Residential Support Workers have all the time they need for the residents. And the residents? They can live well in a pleasant environment.
Guiding and supporting the residents.
You assist the residents with daily care (for example, with showering).
Household assistance (such as cleaning activities and cooking).
We are Bartiméus. With more than 1,900 employees and about 850 volunteers, we are there for people in the Netherlands who are visually impaired or blind. Also if they have a multiple disability or experience problems with seeing due to, for example, non-congenital brain injury. We are there for their loved ones and for the professionals around them. They can turn to our expertise center, our outpatient service providers, our schools and residential facilities, and the various forms of day activities that we offer. We do everything in our power to make it possible for people with a visual impairment to lead the life that suits them and to develop themselves fully. Because it is not about what percentage you see. It is about what percentage you live. Bartiméus. 100% living.
Your new workplace is the atmospheric location in Doorn, a wooded area with plenty of greenery. Here, together with your colleagues, you are ready every working day for our residents with a visual and severe intellectual disability. Residents, each with a unique character and their own care needs. For example, one might like to help you in the kitchen or with tidying up and cleaning, while another might specifically need your help with personal care. You work independently, but you can always count on your colleagues for help or advice. Together, you form a friendly and close-knit team.
As a supportive staff member, you need patience and perseverance in your work with clients. A sense of orderliness and hygiene is also important when performing household tasks.
You have experience in care, for example in disability care, elderly care, or as a caregiver. Because of this, you understand how important personal attention and a calm approach are in this position.
You will become part of our flex team, which means you can be deployed to different residences. When you have found a good connection somewhere, we can look together at possibilities for a permanent position. You are available to work early and late shifts, naturally not on the same day! Additionally, you are willing to work on weekends.
A challenging job where you truly make a difference for a special target group.
A one-year contract of 4-28 hours per week (depending on your availability).
Salary appropriate to your education and experience, based on the CAO Disability Care (FWG 25) with a salary of min. €2,384.- and max. €3,276.- gross per month based on a 36-hour work week. You do NOT have to work night and/or sleep shifts.
Holiday allowance of 8%, an end-of-year bonus of 8.33% and an attractive flexible benefits system, through which you benefit from tax advantages on the purchase of, among other things, a (lease) bike, sports subscriptions, outings, a museum annual pass, and gift vouchers.
Plenty of development and growth opportunities in the form of an extensive induction program and various trainings and courses.
