The role

Vincent van Gogh is looking for an activities assistant who draws energy from working in a small and close-knit team and has an eye for elderly people with psychiatric issues. You will provide calm, structure, and a warm atmosphere during daily activities, while supporting clients in an engaged manner.

Requirements

You have courage, perseverance, humor, and can set boundaries regarding behavior.
You are willing to learn and motivate others toward new challenges.
Experience as a supporter is not necessary; we will teach you that.
You can work independently and in a problem-solving manner; in the absence of the day activity coach, you can run the group yourself.
You dare to think outside the box and have a heart for (elderly) clients.

About the company & team

You will be working at the Vicentiushof, one of the Long-term Care Elderly teams. The team focuses on providing daily structure and daily activities to elderly people with various psychiatric conditions.

In your role, you provide practical support to clients and colleagues during activities. This can range from activating clients to participating in the activities organized by the day activity coach. You support clients during activities and offer a listening ear. Addressing clients regarding undesirable behavior and supporting them where possible is also part of your role.

You use your communication skills and are there for both clients and colleagues. You are a flexible, entrepreneurial colleague with organizational talent. You have a good sense of what is happening on the ward and what is needed.
