The role

What you'll do

As a Healthcare Assistant (IG) in Delfshaven/Centrum, you will travel independently to clients' homes. You help them to continue living independently and comfortably in their own environment for as long as possible. In doing so, you look beyond just the care needs and pay attention to the person behind the client.

During your route:

you support them with daily care (ADL);
you administer medication and perform nursing technical procedures;
you signal changes and take action if necessary;
you coordinate care around clients and coordinate with colleagues and other healthcare professionals;
you make time for personal attention and a chat.

You work independently, but you are not alone. Your colleagues are always available for consultation.

You are independent, involved, and have a sincere interest in the people whose homes you visit. Many of our clients have a small social network or extra challenges in daily life in addition to their care needs. You therefore look beyond just the care you are coming to provide at that moment.

Furthermore:

you have a diploma as an Individual Healthcare Provider (Verzorgende IG);
you are authorized and competent in medication and nursing technical procedures;
you are available for day and evening shifts and on weekends;

About the company & team

You will work within the community nursing division of Stichting Humanitas in Delfshaven/Centrum. From our home care office in the Leeuwenhoek, you will head out to clients in the neighborhood.

Delfshaven and Centrum are versatile Rotterdam neighborhoods with various communities, cultures, and care needs. You will visit all kinds of people in their homes and work in both quiet residential areas and lively neighborhoods. The routes are clear and efficient. The target group is multicultural and mental health (GGZ) issues occur more than regularly, which requires a proper approach and manner of treatment. For that reason, we also work closely with, among others, Antes and Pameijer.

You will join a developing team of (community) nurses, Healthcare Assistants (IG), and Care Assistants. We know each other, have short lines of communication, and help one another. We find sociability, involvement, and taking shared responsibility for good care to be important.
