The role

As a Care & Welfare Assistant, you support residents with their daily care, such as washing, showering, dressing and undressing, and eating and drinking. In doing so, you always look at what someone can and wants to do themselves and encourage residents to maintain as much autonomy as possible.

You know the residents and know what is important to them. You make time for a chat, offer a listening ear, and contribute to a warm, homely atmosphere.

At Akropolis, your work is about more than just daily care. You help with activities, encourage social interaction, and contribute to a meaningful day for residents. You notice changes in the well-being of residents and discuss these with your colleagues.

Together with the team, you ensure that residents feel safe, trusted, and at home.

This will be your workplace:

Akropolis is the largest residential care location of Stichting Humanitas and is located in the Rotterdam district of Hillegersberg-Schiebroek. Our nursing wards, where approximately 200 residents live, are located in the high tower. The Gerard Spronkersflat, where residents live independently, is located in the low-rise building.

The connection between both forms of living makes Akropolis special. Residents of the Spronkersflat volunteer for and together with residents of the nursing wards. In this way, we strengthen each other and create a place where involvement and living together are central.

There is always something to experience at Akropolis. Residents can enjoy a walk through the green garden, sing together in the Atrium, or participate in activities involving music, movement, and social interaction.

On the ground floor, you will find a restaurant and bar where residents, employees, and local residents meet. There is also space for relaxation, games, and group activities. The various cultural backgrounds of residents and employees make Akropolis colorful and special.

With us:

  • You work at a versatile residential care location with different types of care.

  • Personal attention and well-being are central.

  • You truly get to know your residents.

  • You contribute to activities, social interaction, and a pleasant daily routine.

  • You work together with dedicated colleagues.

  • You get space to think along and develop yourself.

Akropolis is easily accessible by public transport, bicycle, and car. Additionally, there is sufficient free parking available.

This is you:

You are involved, independent, and flexible. You have a heart for care and see what a resident needs. You look beyond daily care and find it important to contribute to well-being, autonomy, and a meaningful day.

You are patient, have an eye for personal needs, and enjoy stimulating and supporting residents. You like working together with colleagues and think in terms of possibilities.

Sometimes good care requires looking just a little bit differently. Are you a rule-breaker who sometimes colors outside the lines? Then you are a good fit for Stichting Humanitas.

Furthermore:

  • You have a Care & Welfare Assistant level 2 diploma.

  • You can work independently and take responsibility.

  • You keep appointments and are reliable.

  • You have an eye for the well-being and personal needs of residents.

  • You enjoy working together and help colleagues where necessary.

  • You are open to innovation and development.

This is what you will receive from us:

At Stichting Humanitas, we believe it is important that you can do your work with pleasure and confidence. Therefore, you can count on good employment conditions and the space to continue developing yourself:

  • A salary according to CAO VVT, FWG 25: € 16.61 to € 20.66 gross per hour, up to a maximum of € 3,124.01 gross per month based on 36 hours.

  • 8% holiday allowance and 8.33% end-of-year bonus.

  • Pension accrual via Pensioenfonds Zorg en Welzijn (PFZW).

  • Training and career advancement opportunities.

  • A bicycle plan, also for an e-bike.

  • A contract between 16 and 32 hours per week.

  • Day, evening, and night shifts, for which you receive unsocial hours allowance (ORT).
