Institutional Cook – Rotterdam

With us, you combine the profession of a cook with working hours that are much friendlier than in many hospitality kitchens. Furthermore, you get the space to contribute ideas and bring in your experience and suggestions.

• A contract for 36 hours per week.

• Working hours from approximately 10:00 AM to 7:30 PM.

• Every other weekend off.

• A salary according to CAO VVT, FWG 35: € 2,735.91 to € 3,592.96 gross per month based on 36 hours.

• Irregularity allowance of 38% on Saturdays from 12:00 PM and 60% on Sundays and public holidays.

• 8% holiday allowance and 8.33% end-of-year bonus.

• Pension accrual at Pensioenfonds Zorg en Welzijn (PFZW).

• A bicycle plan and collective health insurance.

At Brasserie Intermezzo, you won't be reheating meals. You cook yourself, work with fresh ingredients, and get the space to contribute ideas about what goes on the menu.

You prepare daily lunches and dinners for our residents and guests. Additionally, you create things like luxury weekly specials, themed buffets, and three-course menus for birthdays and anniversaries. And of course, a croquette, frikandel, or cheese soufflé is also part of it from time to time.

The brasserie truly comes to life especially around lunchtime. Residents, people from the neighborhood, and colleagues from the location all come to lunch at the same time. Sometimes a birthday or anniversary celebration with lunch also takes place at the same moment. In those cases, a lot needs to happen in a short amount of time. You maintain an overview, switch gears quickly, and work together with your colleagues to ensure everything leaves the kitchen well and on time.

You work together with three other cooks, and during a shift, you are usually in the kitchen with one other cook. You work from approximately 10:00 AM to 7:30 PM and have every other weekend off.

Of course, we are looking for someone who can cook well. But for this workplace, how you interact with people is at least as important. Brasserie Intermezzo is a social and lively environment. You work together with various colleagues and deal daily with residents, family members, and other guests.

You are approachable and respectful, have patience with the elderly, and enjoy being part of such a diverse environment. During the busy lunch peak, you don't let yourself get flustered. You maintain an overview, help colleagues where necessary, and continue to collaborate pleasantly even under time pressure. Additionally, you have:
