The role
Within the Continued Treatment & Residential cluster, we believe that every person has a need for perspective, connection, and opportunities to continue developing, even when there is a case of severe psychiatric vulnerability.
We are looking for a mental health nurse practitioner (NP mental health) who looks beyond symptoms and diagnoses alone. A professional who wants to contribute to high-quality psychiatric care and is also curious about how people, despite long-term vulnerabilities, can give shape to as normal a life as possible.
What you'll do
Diagnostics and treatment
You perform psychiatric diagnostics and carry out treatments within your area of expertise. Together with the client, their loved ones, and the multidisciplinary team, you establish treatment and care goals. In doing so, you maintain an eye for the connection between psychiatric symptoms, traumatic experiences, physical health, social context, and quality of life. You continuously investigate how treatment can contribute to more opportunities for development, participation, and a meaningful fulfillment of daily life.
Treatment management and care coordination
You take charge of complex treatment trajectories and monitor the coherence between treatment, guidance, and recovery support. You connect different disciplines around the client and stimulate joint decision-making.
Critically examining treatment and medication
Within long-term care, issues surrounding polypharmacy regularly play a role. Together with clients and colleagues, you look critically at the added value of medication, possible side effects, and opportunities for simplifying treatment regimens where that is responsible and desirable.
Multidisciplinary collaboration
You participate in multidisciplinary consultations and work closely with psychiatrists, nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists, and caregivers. You provide consultation to colleagues and actively contribute to professional development within the teams.
Development and innovation
You contribute to the further development of Triple-C, Kompas-Zie, and other innovative forms of treatment and guidance within long-term mental health care. Additionally, you are given space to think along about current themes such as nursing leadership, lifestyle, somatic health, and sustainable deployment of care.
We are looking for a colleague who has an eye for the needs behind psychological suffering and investigates how treatment and support can contribute to quality of life. You combine nursing and medical expertise and move easily between treatment, guidance, and recovery support. In doing so, you are always searching for opportunities to support clients in their development, self-management, and participation in daily life.
Where will you work?
Continued Treatment & Residential offers long-term care to adults and includes various forms of residence, ranging from clinical treatment and long-term stay to (intensive) protected living. As a nurse practitioner, you are connected to various teams within the cluster.
Requirements
You are a BIG-registered mental health nurse practitioner with an affinity for people with severe psychiatric conditions and complex support needs. You feel drawn to a vision in which humanity, development and quality of life are central, and you see the person behind the diagnosis.
You work independently, but actively seek collaboration within multidisciplinary teams. With your communication skills, you connect different disciplines and contribute to joint treatment and development goals.
You are curious, reflective, and interested in development-oriented approaches such as Triple-C and Kompas-Zie. You see opportunities to support clients in recovery, development, and participation, despite psychological vulnerability.
Additionally, you feel challenged by complex issues in the field of psychotic vulnerability, trauma, substance use, and polypharmacy. In doing so, you look at existing treatment routines with an open and critical eye and continuously search for opportunities to further improve care.
You demonstrate professional leadership and actively contribute to professional development, innovation, quality development, practice-oriented research, and a positive learning and development culture within long-term mental health care.
A positive Certificate of Conduct (VOG) is required for this position.
Checking references and verifying diplomas are part of the selection procedure.
