The role
As a support worker or nurse at GGZ inGeest, you always work in collaboration. You do this at one of our clinics.
Play an important role within the treatment team. Observe and signal changes and contribute to a safe and supportive environment. Together, we make the difference for our clients.
What you'll do
You will predominantly work night shifts (from 10:45 PM to 7:45 AM) and, as a nurse or supervisor, you will monitor peace and safety, making you incredibly important to our clients.
You signal changes on the psychological, somatic, and/or social level.
You signal and, where possible, prevent crisis situations and offer support during interventions.
You are involved in drafting, implementing, adjusting, and evaluating support plans as part of the treatment plan and report on these.
You ensure a complete handover to colleagues and are able to prepare medication (baxters) and place orders with our pharmacy.
You will work together with other colleagues, particularly during the night. Together, you will discuss who performs which tasks.
Appropriate care for your clients
The high care clinic is an acute admission ward with 24 beds. Our client population, consisting of individuals between the ages of 18 and 60, is very diverse, as are their psychiatric conditions. We treat clients with, among others, psychoses, bipolar disorders, depressions, and decompensated personality disorders.
High Care Haarlem has a rapidly changing composition of clients who are admitted here, both voluntarily and involuntarily. Partly because Schiphol is located in our region, clients are admitted from all over the world. As a result, you will come into contact with many different cultures, languages, and customs.
Together with the client, their loved ones, and an outpatient team, we establish clear treatment goals and timelines. Our goal is effective, personal, and short-term treatment, so that the client can quickly resume life outside the clinic. We focus on lifestyle improvement and other group therapies (G-schema) to increase the self-reliance of clients.
Our multidisciplinary team consists of nurses, psychiatrists, doctors, psychologists, social workers, and therapists. We work together with various chain partners such as the police, neighborhood managers, general practitioners, and RIBWs. Additionally, we have excellent partnerships with hospitals and other care clinics and serve clients from a large part of the region.
