Bachelor of Nursing Internship

Are you an eager-to-learn Bachelor of Nursing student who is confident and enjoys working with people with complex psychiatric problems? Then we are looking for you!

Within our mental healthcare organization, we offer various internship positions for Bachelor of Nursing students in the Amsterdam, Amstelveen, Haarlem, and Bennebroek region.

During your internship, you will become acquainted with the care of clients with a Severe Psychiatric Disorder (SPD). You will learn how to build a professional working relationship with this target group and develop skills in areas including:

• Motivational interviewing;

• Clinical reasoning within mental healthcare;

• Recovery-oriented care;

• Collaborating within multidisciplinary teams;

• Dealing with complex psychiatric issues;

• Guiding and supporting clients in their daily functioning.

We offer internship positions for students from all years of the Bachelor of Nursing program.

• Year 1, 2, and 3: clinical internship positions.

• Year 4: choice between clinical internship positions or an internship within a FACT team.

The scope of the internships varies, depending on educational requirements, from 16 to 32 hours per week.

The largest supply of internship positions is located within clinical care. We provide care to:

• Adults (18 to 65 years);

• Elderly (65+);

Additionally, you can gain experience within both:

• Open wards;

• Closed wards.

We are looking for students who:

• Are eager to learn and curious;

• Can work independently;

• Have strong communication skills;

• Are confident;

• Do not shy away from a challenge;

• Having an affinity for mental healthcare.

Most internships start in February or September. Together, we will look at your year of study, learning objectives, and interests to find a suitable internship placement.
