Civil / Hydraulic Engineering Site Manager

As a civil engineering site manager at BESIX Nederland, you will work on the large-scale renovation of the Krammersluizen complex in Bruinisse.

This project is anything but standard. You will work on a crucial link within the Dutch water infrastructure, where tens of thousands of vessels pass annually and where safety, availability, and sustainability are central.

The renovation includes, among other things, the renewal of lock gates, mechanical installations, concrete structures, and electrotechnical systems. At the same time, the complex remains largely operational, which requires smart phasing, tight coordination, and strong execution discipline.

Within this complex environment, you are responsible for the realization of civil works and ensure that everything on-site is correct: safe, according to schedule, and with the right quality.

As the Krammersluizen site manager, you will daily direct the execution within a technically challenging renovation project in hydraulic engineering.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

• Directing civil works, with a focus on concrete repair, structural adjustments, and integration with installations;
• Coordinating activities within an operational environment (locks remain in use);
• Monitoring planning, safety, quality, and progress;
• Directing skilled tradespeople, subcontractors, and suppliers;
• Aligning with work preparation, engineers, and project management;
• Identifying risks and implementing optimizations in the execution;
• Supervising compliance with safety and environmental requirements;
• Reporting on progress and performance to project management.

You work within a multidisciplinary project, making collaboration and communication essential for success.
