  • a car or mobility scheme;
  • the possibility to work partly from home, coordinated with the activities and the required presence at the project location;
  • opportunities to follow education and training;
  • space to further develop and grow.

The role

Maintenance is scheduled. But are the right people available, are the materials ready, and can the work safely begin? As Maintenance Coordinator, you ensure everything is correct before execution starts. And if the situation changes, you maintain oversight and adjust accordingly.

At BESIX Unitec, you organize the maintenance of technical installations within the infrastructure. You understand what needs to happen outdoors and ensure that people, resources, and planning align. In doing so, you maintain control over safety, quality, costs, and the agreements with the client.

Your work ensures that maintenance is well prepared, carefully executed, and demonstrably completed.

What you'll do

You translate maintenance plans into feasible execution. You determine priorities, coordinate activities, and provide functional leadership to maintenance technicians and engaged subcontractors.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

  • drafting and monitoring annual, monthly, and weekly maintenance schedules;
  • prioritizing planned maintenance, breakdowns, and repair work based on safety, risks, and contractual agreements;
  • coordinating people, materials, spare parts, tools, and required work documentation;
  • arranging and coordinating work permits, traffic measures, and moments when installations can be taken out of service;
  • checking, releasing, and following up on work orders, including full administrative completion;
  • managing maintenance teams and subcontractors and monitoring progress, quality, and costs;
  • supervising safe working, including the safe shutdown and lockout of installations;
  • discussing and reporting maintenance performance and following up on points for improvement.

An urgent breakdown requires an adjustment to the planning. A part is not available on time. Or work can only take place within a limited time window. You assess the consequences, consult with the colleagues involved, and ensure everyone knows what needs to be done.

That is where we expect your expertise.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Maintenance Coordinator with a solid technical foundation and experience in coordinating maintenance activities. Someone who can assess what a maintenance task requires and create a feasible plan from it.

You give clear instructions, ask follow-up questions when something is not right, and hold stakeholders accountable for agreements. Even when a breakdown changes the planning, you keep an eye on safety and the people performing the work.

Experience with tunnels, bridges, locks, traffic systems, or waterworks is a plus.

Are you currently working, for example, as a maintenance coordinator, service coordinator, or supervisor in a technical maintenance environment? Then your experience may align well. We would love to hear how you organize maintenance and involve teams in the execution.

What do you get from us?

At BESIX Unitec, you get responsibility for the organization of maintenance that directly contributes to reliable infrastructure. You work with technical colleagues, have short lines to the execution, and get space to implement improvements.

And at least as important: you work together with colleagues from different technical and commercial disciplines. People who each contribute to the same project result from their own expertise.

In their own words

About the company & team

You work within management and maintenance contracts for infrastructural assets and technical installations. Think of tunnels, bridges, locks, traffic systems, and waterworks.

Currently, you are regularly present at the Krammersluizen in Bruinisse. You are close to the execution, coordinate activities with technicians and subcontractors, and follow the progress on location. Depending on the projects, your work location may change in the future.

Various technical disciplines come together there. You coordinate the maintenance based on the available time, safety requirements, and the agreements regarding the availability of installations. Does the planning change? Then you oversee the consequences and coordinate with the parties involved on what is needed.

You report to the Maintenance Manager and work closely with Maintenance Engineers, work preparers, supervisors, technicians, contract management, and safety colleagues. You also coordinate activities with suppliers, subcontractors, and the client.

Together with the Maintenance Engineer, you discuss recurring breakdowns and opportunities for improvement. You ensure that agreed measures find their way into preparation and execution.

Precisely there lies your challenge.

BESIX Unitec develops, realizes, and maintains technical solutions for complex infrastructure.

We combine technical knowledge with experience in large infrastructural projects. From energy and data networks to automation and the maintenance of critical infrastructure.

The culture? Technical, entrepreneurial, and practical.

You get responsibility and the space to come up with ideas. We also expect you to take initiative. Do you see a chance to further develop yourself, do you need certain knowledge, or do you want to follow a training? Make it discussable and take the lead yourself.

We work seriously on our projects, but find it at least as important that colleagues know each other and enjoy working together.

That is why we have lunch together, regularly organize activities and drinks, and colleagues from the Netherlands and Belgium come together throughout the year.

Ready to use your expertise for the infrastructure of tomorrow?

Then we would love to meet you.

Would you first like to know which projects are happening, what the team looks like, or what this step could mean for you? Feel free to contact me for an initial, no-obligation introduction.
