The role

The energy transition calls for smart, decisive professionals. In team South Maintain Substations C we work every day on the development of new high-voltage substations and high-voltage connections in the southern Netherlands, so that the Netherlands can also rely on a reliable electricity grid tomorrow. Will you contribute to this as a Contract Manager - South Maintain Substations C?

Within the maintenance team, continuity, safety, availability, and predictable execution are central. In this environment, contract management is a co-determining factor for reliable maintenance performance and controlled cooperation with suppliers and contractors. As a Contract Manager within the maintenance team, you are the contractual and commercial conscience of the maintenance organization. You ensure that maintenance contracts, framework agreements, and service agreements are applied unambiguously and you manage performance, changes, risks, claims, escalations, and contractual improvements throughout the entire contract term.

What you'll do

  • Maintenance: Co-determining and further developing the contract strategy for maintenance contracts, framework agreements, and service level agreements
  • Increasing the contract management level within the maintenance team and ensuring a uniform way of working towards suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders
  • Proactively and operationally managing all contractual agreements, performance requirements, obligations, conditions, assumptions, expectations, risks, and objectives throughout the entire maintenance and contract cycle
  • Identifying, eliminating, or reducing contractual defects, gaps, ambiguities, and differences in interpretation that could affect maintenance execution, safety, availability, or cost control
  • Establishing, (having) drafted, and handling contract changes, settlements, RFCs, claims, and escalations in relation to maintenance activities and service agreements
  • Managing contractual progress, finances, performance, risks, decisions, actions, and outstanding contract issues, including the follow-up of KPIs, SLAs, and supplier agreements
  • Ensuring a controlled process around contract changes, extra and reduced work, deviations, performance corrections, and improvement measures within ongoing maintenance contracts
  • Close cooperation with maintenance management, work preparation, execution, asset management, procurement, legal support, and the involved suppliers or contractors

Your role as Contract Manager

Your profile and background

  • HBO/WO working and thinking level, preferably related to technical, business administration, legal, or contract management
  • Knowledge of and at least 5 years of demonstrable experience with contract management within management, maintenance, infrastructure, or technical services; experience with maintenance contracts, framework agreements, UAV/UAV-GC, performance management, contract control, claim and conflict management, and cooperation with contractors or service partners
  • Very good oral and written communication skills in Dutch and English, with the ability to clearly translate contractual topics into operational decision-making
  • Flexible, environmentally aware, and willing to be regularly present at maintenance locations, regional offices, or in meetings with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Familiar with contracting, technical maintenance processes, safety requirements, and the dynamics of execution within an operational management organization
