Maintenance Project Coordinator (Wormerveer)

A complex failure in a control system. A complete installation that must be replaced. Or a technical improvement that can... The infrastructure of the Netherlands never stands still. Bridges and locks must continue to function day and night, and even at a place like Schiphol, technical installations must be continuously available. That requires not only technology, but above all, organization. In practice, many things happen at once. Schedules shift, failures occur unexpectedly, and work must simply continue. As a Project Coordinator, you are the one who brings structure to this dynamism and ensures that everything is correct at the front end.

As a Project Coordinator, you are the connecting link between the contract, the preparation, and the execution of our maintenance and project activities. From Wormerveer, you will work on various maintenance contracts for, among others, Rijkswaterstaat, the province of Noord-Holland, and Schiphol. This makes your work quite diverse. One time it involves work on bridges or locks, the next time it involves technical installations at one of the largest airports in Europe.

You start your day with the question of what is happening. Which activities are planned, what failures have occurred, and where adjustments are needed? From there, you determine where your focus lies that day. Sometimes that lies in preparing work, sometimes in solving bottlenecks in execution, or in adjusting the planning because practice demands it. You think ahead: what are we going to do, who do we need for it, which materials must be ordered, and where can things go wrong? And when that happens, you ensure that quick action is taken.

You work closely with the service technicians, service leader, and technical manager. The service technicians work outside every day and register what they encounter during failures and preventive maintenance. You translate this into concrete actions and ensure that these reach the right place. In doing so, you do not need to be able to do or know everything yourself. For more complex issues, you can rely on the technical manager and other specialists within SWARCO. From you, we primarily expect that you maintain an overview, think ahead, and ensure that the right people are engaged at the right time.

Additionally, you ensure that all preconditions for execution are correct. You understand what has been agreed upon within the various contracts and translate this into daily practice. You also play a role on a financial and administrative level. You ensure that hours and activities are properly registered, maintain visibility on progress, and signal when activities may fall outside the existing agreements.

You have a lot of freedom in how you fulfill your role, but that also means that a lot is expected of you. Because ultimately, it all comes down to one thing: ensuring that the work is well prepared and can be executed outside without problems.
