Your clients sleep like a baby and their loved ones also go to bed at night with a sense of peace. They know, after all, that you are awake and alert!
Our residents with visual and multiple disabilities depend on the good care and support that you and your colleagues provide them. You are that trusted voice, the helping hand, and the bringer of calm during the night.
Working at night suits you perfectly. You love the tranquility as well as the special dynamics that the night brings with it. In Doorn, clients with visual impairments live, often in combination with an intellectual and/or physical disability and sometimes difficult-to-understand behavior. You offer them appropriate guidance: from a peaceful night's sleep and moments of care to acting adequately in more complex situations.
You work in a close-knit team of about 35 colleagues, of whom 8–10 are present per night. Your shifts are from 22:15 to 07:15; sometimes you walk your route alone and sometimes together, always with support from the Night Nurse. On the premises, you cycle from location to location and stay in contact with colleagues and the central dispatch via walkie-talkie.
We determine your schedule in consultation. With a contract of 24 hours per week, you work an average of 11 nights per month, for example in blocks of 5–6 consecutive nights (followed by 9–10 days off), or in shorter blocks if that suits you better.
We are Bartiméus. With over 1,900 employees and about 850 volunteers, we are there for people in the Netherlands who are visually impaired or blind. Also if they have a multiple disability or experience problems with seeing due to, for example, non-congenital brain injury. We are there for their loved ones and for the professionals around them. They can turn to our expertise center, our outpatient caregivers, our schools and residential facilities, and the various forms of day activities that we offer. We do everything in our power to make it possible for people with a visual impairment to lead the life that suits them and to be able to develop fully. Because it is not about what percentage you see. It is about what percentage you live. Bartiméus 100% living.
You enjoy working at night; you are clear-headed and alert then.
You recognize signals from clients, you can assess situations well, and you know how to provide the right guidance in response.
You have at least a completed MBO education at level 3 within healthcare or social care (as a Care Assistant B, you have MBO level 4 and experience with the target group). MBO nurses are also very welcome.
A meaningful job where you truly make a difference.
Career guidance and many training opportunities, including access to our Learning Plaza and the online training from 'GoodHabitz'.
