Just where it can, especially where needed. The starting point of education at Bartiméus
As a Training Advisor, you will focus on further professionalizing our teachers, itinerant educational advisors, and the quality of our course offerings. Will you strengthen our team with your knowledge and energy?
Our educational professionals in the classroom and in itinerant educational support shape our services every day. We are proud of that! To support students with visual impairments as effectively as possible, it is important that our employees continue to develop their knowledge and skills. The educational context is constantly changing and demands new insights and specialist expertise.
As a training advisor, you translate these developments into a future-oriented professionalization policy. Based on your vision of education and learning & development, you ensure that our professionals in schools and within itinerant services continue to develop and can make the most of themselves.
You will be involved in:
Developing professionalization policy: You develop policy that aligns with the mission and vision of Bartiméus, the developments and needs in the educational field, and the professional ambitions of our employees. You identify new training needs, translate these into suitable development opportunities, and advise management on the direction and further development of the policy. You also monitor and evaluate the results and advise on improvements.
Coordinating and improving the training offering: You advise management on the implementation of the professionalization policy and monitor whether the existing training offering sufficiently aligns with the specific needs of our education. Together with your colleagues from the Academy, you test whether programs meet educational standards and whether the educational context is sufficiently represented. Furthermore, you ensure that evaluations lead to concrete improvements in the offering.
Further developing courses for teachers outside Bartiméus: You are responsible for the quality of our course offering for teachers working outside Bartiméus. You work on an effective and efficient organization of these courses and coordinate this with involved colleagues and our partner Koninklijke Visio. An important focus is working towards a joint platform for this offering.
We are Bartiméus. With approximately 1,900 employees and over 850 volunteers, we are there for people in the Netherlands who are visually impaired or blind. Also if they have a multiple disability or experience problems with seeing due to, for example, non-congenital brain injury. We are there for their loved ones and for the professionals around them. They can turn to our expertise center, our itinerant service providers, our schools and residential facilities, and the various forms of day activities we offer. We do everything in our power to make it possible for people with a visual impairment to lead the life that suits them and to develop fully. Because it is not about what percentage you see. It is about what percentage you live. Bartiméus. 100% living.
By far most children and young people with a visual impairment live, learn, reside, and work in their own familiar environment. Our Itinerant Educational Advisors provide more than a thousand students, their schools, and parents with the right support and tools. Our colleagues investigate what a young person needs at school to develop themselves and to function optimally.
Children who need more intensive guidance are welcome at our expertise centers; our schools in Zeist, Doorn, and Laren (Gld). Our teachers provide education to maximize the potential of the children. In doing so, we offer children not only education in the subjects that are part of the curriculum, but we also increase their adaptability, resilience, and visual independence.
You enjoy helping other professionals to further qualify themselves in their field. In doing so, you have a strong affinity with education and particularly with our target group of blind and visually impaired children.
In addition, you bring:
A completed HBO or WO degree in the field of learning and development.
Several years of experience as a training advisor within an educational context.
Your own vision on learning & development based on recent insights regarding the talent development of professionals. You know how to connect this to the mission and vision of our organization.
A proactive, result-oriented attitude that you enjoy applying within a complex and dynamic environment.
A people-oriented approach, in which you seek collaboration internally and externally (with Koninklijke Visio and other stakeholders) to achieve an optimal result.
