Deploy your expertise for a special target group? At Bartiméus, you truly make a difference.
Psychological and psychiatric issues also occur among people who are blind or visually impaired and/or have an intellectual disability. The combination of these issues requires specialist knowledge and a different perspective on diagnostics and treatment.
That is precisely where your strength lies as a Clinical Psychologist. At Bartiméus SGGZ, you work with a broad and diverse target group of all ages, with varied and often complex psychological and psychiatric issues. You work at the intersection of mental healthcare (GGZ) and disability care, in a setting that is unique in the Netherlands. A place where you can deploy your expertise, collaborate with passionate colleagues, and receive plenty of space to further develop yourself and the profession.
As a Clinical Psychologist, you are ultimately responsible as the lead practitioner for the diagnostics and treatment of clients with complex psychological, psychiatric, and behavioral issues of all ages. In addition, a visual and sometimes also an intellectual disability plays a role. You establish diagnoses and treatment indications, personally carry out intensive psychotherapeutic diagnostics and treatments, and provide substantive direction to the treatment process.
You work closely with the client, their network, and other involved professionals. Within the multidisciplinary team, you monitor the quality, coherence, and progress of the treatment. You supervise fellow practitioners and contribute to the development of treatment policy.
Bartiméus has more than 30 years of experience within Specialized Mental Healthcare (SGGZ). Our SGGZ department is a small, close-knit outpatient department within the Research & Treatment cluster. You will work together with 14 passionate colleagues: 2 clinical psychologists, 4 GZ-psychologists, 2 psychomotor therapists, 4 colleagues in training (2 PIOG and 2 GIOS), a secretary, and a team manager.
The lines of communication are short. We find each other quickly for substantive consultation, to brainstorm about a complex case, or simply to have a laugh together.
At Bartiméus, you are given space to deploy your expertise more broadly. We want to continuously further develop our knowledge regarding psychological and psychiatric issues in people with a visual and sometimes multiple disability.
You therefore also contribute to research, innovation, and knowledge development. Think of developing new care modules and treatment programs, researching and implementing innovative treatment methods, and sharing knowledge within and outside of Bartiméus. Providing supervision, work guidance, and training to colleagues and psychologists in training also belongs to your role. There is plenty of room to bring in your own expertise, ideas, and affinities in this regard.
For our residential clients and for people with a visual and sometimes also an intellectual disability outside of Bartiméus, you will primarily work from our main location in Doorn. Occasionally, you will also work at our locations in Zeist or Ermelo.
In this role:
As the lead practitioner, you are ultimately responsible for diagnostics, indication setting, and treatment.
You independently perform specialist psychodiagnostics and intensive psychotherapeutic treatments for complex issues.
You provide substantive direction to the treatment process and ensure coordination between the various professionals involved.
You supervise and guide fellow practitioners and psychologists in training.
You contribute to the development and improvement of treatment policy, care programs, and innovative treatments.
You share your knowledge within and outside the organization through training, intervision, presentations, and, where possible, publications.
You contribute to scientific research and the further development of specialist mental healthcare for people with a visual and sometimes multiple disability.
We are Bartiméus. With over 1,900 employees and about 850 volunteers, we are there for people in the Netherlands who are visually impaired or blind. Also if they have a multiple disability or experience problems with seeing due to, for example, non-congenital brain injury. We are there for their loved ones and for the professionals around them. They can turn to our expertise center, our outpatient caregivers, our schools and residential facilities, and the various forms of day activities that we offer. We do everything in our power to make it possible for people with a visual impairment to lead the life that suits them and to be able to develop fully. Because it is not about what percentage you see. It is about what percentage you live. Bartiméus 100% living.
You are an experienced and connecting professional who stands firmly in your shoes. You can work well independently, but you also actively seek collaboration within the multidisciplinary team. In complex situations, you maintain an overview, make well-considered choices, and know how to bring others along with your vision.
You have an eye for the person behind the issues and can connect with clients who cannot always express themselves easily verbally. You are tactful, empathetic, and can handle intensive treatment situations and crisis situations.
Additionally, you find it interesting to look beyond the treatment of a single client. You gain energy from developing knowledge, improving care, and sharing your expertise with colleagues and fellow professionals.
Furthermore, you bring:
A completed education to become a GZ-psychologist-specialist (clinical psychologist).
A valid BIG registration as a Clinical Psychologist. Will you soon be registered as a Clinical Psychologist? Even then, we cordially invite you to respond.
Experience with complex psychological and/or psychiatric issues.
Affinity with working at the intersection of mental healthcare and disability care.
You are curious about what a visual and intellectual disability means for diagnostics and treatment. Experience with this target group is valuable, but we especially value your willingness to deepen your knowledge in this area.
Good to know: Bartiméus aims to promote the labor participation of people with a visual impairment. Do you have a visual impairment yourself? Then we explicitly invite you to apply.
A substantively challenging position in which you deploy your specialist expertise for a special target group.
A small, involved professional group with short lines, space for substantive brainstorming, and attention for one another.
Plenty of room for your own initiative and for developing your expertise within treatment, research, and innovation.
A permanent contract of 24 to 36 hours per week immediately.
Salary appropriate to your experience and education based on the CAO Disability Care (FWG 70), with a maximum of €8,592 gross per month for a 36-hour work week.
The position is currently classified in FWG 70. A process for re-evaluation of the position is starting, in which it will be investigated whether classification in FWG 75 is appropriate.
Holiday allowance of 8%, an end-of-year bonus of 8.33% and an attractive flexible benefits system, through which you benefit from tax advantages on the purchase of, among other things, a (lease) bike, sports subscriptions, outings, a museum annual pass, and gift vouchers.
Plenty of development and career growth opportunities in the form of an extensive induction program and an online offering of supporting training from 'GoodHabitz'.
