The role

As a Supply Chain Engineer at VDL Konings, you are responsible for setting up and maintaining efficient supply chains. This includes both creating new supply chains together with your colleagues and continuously improving existing processes. You have a sharp eye for opportunities and initiate improvement projects within the entire quote-to-cash process.

Your goal is to optimize processes, increase flexibility, and reduce total costs. You work closely with various disciplines and departments within VDL Konings and maintain contact with customers and suppliers. You are not only to be found at your desk, but also regularly on the production floor to check whether your plans are being executed correctly.

A number of your main tasks are:

• Identifying improvement potential: Collaborating with your account team to find improvements in the supply chain, focused on quality, lead time, cost, and technology (QLTC performance);
• Executing improvement actions: Identifying and implementing improvement actions, both internally and with customers and suppliers;
• Guiding product development: Successfully bringing products from the concept phase to volume production, including setting up, guiding, and testing the supply chain;
• Further developing working methods: Further developing the working methods of VDL Konings to effectively move products from design to production.
