The role

What you'll do

As a Logistics Worker, you are responsible for all internal transport within the factory as well as the loading and unloading of trucks. You will perform these activities together with 4 colleagues. Every day, the Dispatch Team Leader will discuss with you what is expected of you that day.

Almost all products to be moved are on pallets with scannable route labels. Using a forklift, you move these pallets to the correct locations/racks in the various warehouses. Every movement you make, you scan using a handheld scanner.

In addition, you ensure that pallets and products are strapped and, if necessary, wrapped in foil to make them ready for shipment so that they can be transported safely to the customer.

A small portion of our orders are collected and packed manually. These activities also form part of the total package of tasks within the dispatch department. You will learn this too!

Additionally, you actively participate in keeping the factory tidy, transporting packaging, driving trash cans in and out, etc. It is estimated that you will spend 80% of your working time on your forklift, which you will, of course, also clean periodically.

At the start, you will begin on the day shift so that you get to know VDL well and we get to know you! Once you know our logistical work processes and can find your "way" independently, you will work according to the 2-shift roster.

You will become part of a close-knit team of 9 colleagues within the logistics department, under the leadership of the Dispatch Team Leader. The team consists of 5 Forklift Drivers, 1 Truck Driver, 1 Allround Logistics Worker, 1 Administrative Logistics Worker, and the Team Leader.
