The role

Are you ready for perhaps the BIGGEST challenge in the field of supply chain in the Liemers?

Then you are the experienced and inventive Supply Chain Coordinator/Specialist we are looking for! By great, we also mean BIG: with a turnover of around € 4.5 billion in 2025, we are one of the largest snack producers in Europe. In Zevenaar, we manage the procurement portfolio for the entire Intersnack Group. As an experienced supply chain professional, you understand how to play the game so that in a dynamic world, exactly what we purchase also arrives at the right time and place so that our factories can continue to produce. You prefer to play that game within a stable and collegial team and for a core-healthy and people-oriented organization where we always view today's challenges with tomorrow and the day after in mind. You: a great job with space and freedom. We: an experienced, independent but also involved colleague that we can occasionally laugh hard with or at!

What you'll do

Your challenge as Supply Chain Coordinator
Take responsibility for the inbound supply chain of nuts purchased from all over the world. In doing so, you carefully weigh delivery reliability, stock, quality and costs against each other. Think of products such as cashews, peanuts and pistachios. You manage the entire incoming flow of goods, as well as the stock at the various external storage locations, and you monitor the position/availability of your product group(s). You will deal with a lot of geopolitical dynamics; for example, when there is extreme rainfall somewhere in South America, you will know before you even start your day that you will need to switch gears. Fortunately, this is a highly independent role in which, with a great deal of authority, you can quickly and are allowed to switch gears to safeguard the supply chain — certainly if you are up to that. In this pivotal role, you interact a lot with suppliers, our category managers, quality control, warehousing and your customers: the Intersnack factories. In addition to delivery reliability, you focus on efficiency and cost-effectiveness, taking quality criteria and stock position into account. The role is largely operational, partly tactical. A lot is therefore asked of you at different levels of knowledge.

There is plenty to do in the team and you can partly shape your own role, in coordination with your team. Among other things, what will you do as a Supply Chain Coordinator:

  • Drawing up and adjusting inbound planning for your product groups, taking into account demand, delivery times, goods in transit, and available storage capacity.

  • Calling in orders from suppliers.

  • Maintaining up-to-date overviews of forecasts, available stocks, goods in transit, and outstanding purchase contracts, for the short and medium term.

  • Discussing expected availability and contract coverage with Category Managers and making proposals to prevent shortages, surpluses, and unnecessary inventory.

  • Analyzing inventory and delivery data, identifying causes of deviations, and translating conclusions into concrete measures.

  • Making the consequences for availability, inventory value, and costs transparent.

  • Translating forecast changes, delays, and quality blocks into an adjusted schedule. You monitor agreed actions and call for help in a timely manner when risks arise.

  • Monitoring inventory levels and age and proposing improvements in calling policies, planning, and work processes. You help reduce recurring manual work.

  • Ensuring reliable data regarding purchase contracts, inventory, and planning in our systems, as a basis for good decisions.

How you'll work

Acquisition in response to this position is not necessary. We would love to come into direct contact with interested parties.

Requirements

We are entrepreneurial and take a long-term view — how will you complement us?
You are an experienced supply chain professional with strong problem-solving skills. You are analytical and see the bigger picture, which means you prevent problems instead of having them "happen to you". Respect and sustainable, mutually beneficial collaborations are the starting points for how you work with others. When you solve a problem or have one solved, you know exactly how to switch between the proverbial "carrot and stick". You are also results-driven, stress-resistant, work well with others and have a healthy dose of humor. That last point is very important to us: the supply chain department is a team where above all we want to keep laughing.

In addition, we ask the following for the vacancy of Supply Chain Coordinator:

  • bachelor's level of work and thought, preferably with an education in supply chain, logistics, or business administration;

  • a few years of experience within supply chain or planning, preferably with international goods flows and inventory management;

  • strong analytical skills: you can connect demand, inventory, and delivery times and explain which action is needed;

  • good Excel skills and experience with ERP systems. You understand the importance of reliable planning data;

  • good command of the Dutch and English languages, German is a plus;

  • full-time availability.

About Intersnack

In their own words

About the company & team

Intersnack: an international player with strong brands
Intersnack Procurement is part of the international Intersnack Group with locations throughout Europe. We are constantly growing. The international headquarters of Intersnack Procurement is located in Zevenaar. From Zevenaar, we manage the entire procurement portfolio of the Intersnack Group. You have probably eaten something of ours before; we produce everything from savory snacks and crunchy popcorn to nutritious nuts and creamy peanut butter. We produce, package, and sell these products under brand names such as Chio, POM-BÄR, and for example Tyrrells and KP Pindakaas, but also under private labels for retailers. Additionally, we supply semi-finished products to the food industry.

We are not listed on the stock exchange, and that means we are allowed and able to be very entrepreneurial and that we can continue to prioritize the long term. We are large enough to be at the forefront, and small enough to remain entrepreneurial, flexible, and personal. That is also Intersnack, you can feel it. The atmosphere is good, everyone knows each other, the lines are pleasantly short, and you get a lot of responsibility. Our working language is English. This allows us to continue to respond purposefully to the wishes and needs of customers and consumers, but also of employees. Thus, long tenures and interesting career paths are the rule rather than the exception.
