You are there for elderly clients who need support in their daily lives. You help them to live as independently as possible and look together with them at what is required for that. From a good conversation or a shared activity to support with practical matters: no two days are the same. As a caregiver, you have your own caseload and work together with the client and a coordinating supervisor on personal care plans. An important part of your work is building a trusting relationship. You have an eye for how someone is doing, signal changes, and report any peculiarities. You also provide support where necessary with medication, finances, and other daily matters. Together with your colleagues, you ensure a pleasant, safe, and cozy living environment. You stimulate the self-reliance of clients and help them to maintain control over their own lives as much as possible. As a caregiver, you are given the space to make real contact and be meaningful to the elderly. You work 24 to 32 hours per week, in consultation. A great position for a caregiver in mental health care who likes to be close to clients and enjoys variety in their work.
