Coordinating Personal Counselor in the Netherlands

As a Personal Counselor, you guide adults who are in a vulnerable or difficult phase of their lives and work towards stability, recovery, and a new future. Our clients may deal with mental or psychosocial vulnerability, homelessness, addiction issues, an unstable living or life situation, and other complex challenges.

You are an important and trusted point of contact for the client. From a professional and committed attitude, you look together at what someone needs to regain control over daily life. You align with the client's possibilities, wishes, and goals and stimulate self-direction wherever possible.

As a Personal Counselor, you support clients with, among other things, housing, finances, daily structure, health, work or daily activities, and building or restoring social contacts. You help clients to take achievable steps and support them in maintaining stability when things are going less well.

You have an eye for both behavior and the possible underlying issues. You are curious about what lies behind behavior and know how to translate this into appropriate guidance and concrete goals. In doing so, you can handle complex and sometimes unpredictable situations well. You work together with colleagues, practitioners, and external partners and, from your role, make an active contribution to the recovery and development of clients.

You manage your own caseload and are given the space to utilize your professional knowledge, creativity, and personality. No client and no situation is the same. That is precisely why it is important that you can switch gears well, stand firm in your shoes, and at the same time keep an eye on the person behind the request for help. The number of hours for this position is negotiable!

You work at the IJsselmeerlaan in Emmeloord. At this location, we offer guidance and support to adults who temporarily or long-term need a safe living environment, structure, and professional guidance. Within the residential setting, the emphasis lies on providing stability, strengthening self-reliance, and supporting clients in their recovery and development. In the emergency shelter, you offer support to people who find themselves in a vulnerable and often acute situation and for whom peace, safety, and practical support are of great importance at that moment. You also coordinate the guidance trajectories and manage the residential counselors so that the results set in the plan are achieved. Additionally, you are a point of contact for our chain partners, such as the GGD and the GGZ.

• A salary between € 3,534 and € 5,265 based on 36 hours (CAO Social Work, FWG 8).
