The role

All young people have an individual guidance plan, and as a mentor, you support the young people in their daily lives based on this plan. You will work closely with a coordinating mentor. There is room to draw up the guidance plan together with the coordinating mentor, but you can also focus more on its practical implementation. You contribute to a good living atmosphere, safety, and the well-being of the young people. In doing so, you monitor and prepare client and daily reports within the framework of daily care provision and health status.
Although it occurs almost never, ADL tasks are part of your duties and you supervise medication administration if necessary. Furthermore, you support the young people with the management of financial and material resources if needed. You facilitate group discussions and ensure that they live together in a good way. You also stimulate the self-reliance of the young people regarding household activities. The coordinating mentor bears ultimate responsibility for the guidance plans and their implementation. However, in consultation, you can divide tasks, and it is possible to also maintain internal and external contacts with various disciplines for clients, such as the municipality, job coach, budget manager, parents/guardians, and various mental health institutions.

Your workplace

The Mariastraat in Bussum offers stabilization, residential guidance, and training to 17 young people (ages 18-25) within a structured framework. At two satellite locations, residential guidance is offered to five young people who have transitioned forward. They can consult the 24-hour location, but postpone their care request until a suitable moment. The young people have an indication for Protected Living and struggle with various issues, such as psychiatric, psychosocial, addiction problems, and possibly intellectual disabilities (LVB). You guide them toward a good future and actively contribute to client discussions, team meetings, and team days.
