Psychiatrist (locum)

As a locum psychiatrist, you will provide psychiatric care in the form of on-call and absence services during evening, night, and weekend hours. You will be available for consultations and acute psychiatric assessments within the hospital. In doing so, you will work closely with other disciplines within the Psycho Medical Center (PMC) and our hospital.

Your commitment is of great value to the continuity of care in the Medical Psychiatric Unit (MPU), the somatic departments, and the ER.

This position can be filled flexibly, both on a permanent employment basis and as a freelancer (zzp). The corresponding rate can be requested from our recruiter.

The psychiatry department consists of four psychiatrists. The department is part of the Psycho Medical Center (PMC). Together with the departments of Medical Psychology, Medical Social Work, and Mental Health Care, we work towards good healthcare and quality of life for our patients.

The highly specialized MPU of the PMC has 12 beds. The focus of the department lies on the treatment of complex psychiatry and somatic co-morbidity. The department has WvGGZ accreditation. Within the MPU, there is close cooperation with internal medicine and the other specialties and paramedical disciplines that may be involved in the somatic care for the MPU patient. Strengthening these interdisciplinary collaborations is one of the goals of MPU care.

In addition to the clinical department, hospital psychiatry performs outpatient activities, part-time treatment, and consultative services within the hospital. Outpatient activities are organized into treatment programs, including a POP outpatient clinic and a depression in diabetes outpatient clinic.

Part-time treatment consists of, among other things, various forms of group treatment and modules. There are possibilities ranging from individual work to working with small groups (cognitive module, PMT, mood module, ACT, etc.). On average, 1200 consultations are performed annually. Additionally, for many years we have offered internship opportunities for medical students, GPs in training, geriatricians in training, and we train nurse practitioners ourselves.
