What we're looking for

You are an enthusiastic and eager-to-learn security professional who enjoys working carefully and independently. You maintain an overview, signal what can be improved, and know when coordination is needed. In addition, you bring:

HBO/WO working and thinking level;
a completed education in information security or a comparable education;
excellent knowledge of NEN 7510 and ISO 27001;
experience with certification processes in the field of information security;
a proactive and accurate working attitude;
the ability to distinguish well between main and secondary issues;
pride in the quality of your work;
the ability to prepare understandable and readable notes;
good communication skills and the ease of speaking with people at different levels within the organization;
a sense of interpersonal relationships and the ability to deal well with resistance.

The role

What you'll do

As an Operational Security Officer (OSO), you play an important role in safeguarding and strengthening information security within MST. You support the organization in realizing its information security ambitions by implementing, monitoring, and further improving security measures.

You are responsible for the implementation of security measures according to the NEN 7510 standard, the Dutch standard for information security in healthcare. You ensure that these measures are applied effectively and become part of the hospital's daily operations.

In addition, you actively contribute to the Information Security Annual Plan. You monitor progress and report on the status and effectiveness of the planned measures. Together with the Information Security Officer (ISO) and Technical Security Officer (TSO), you prepare quarterly reports on the state of affairs regarding information security.

You also analyze security incidents and trends and translate these into concrete recommendations for improvement. You have an active role in internal and external audits in the field of information security. You prepare audit documentation, guide auditors, and ensure that audit findings are followed up.

About the company & team

You will work within the Legal Affairs department of Medisch Spectrum Twente. This department is an important link within the hospital and supports the organization with, among other things, legal advice and ensuring legal compliance.

Within Legal Affairs, the Information Security & Privacy team is part of the department. Within this team, you work closely with the ISO, TSO, and Privacy Officer on the execution and improvement of information security within MST.

MST is one of the largest top-clinical hospitals in the Netherlands. With about 4,000 colleagues, we work every day for and with patients on high-quality, safe, and hospitable care. As a hospital, we are aware that good information security is indispensable for this.
