As a psychiatrist, you will work in a multidisciplinary team and provide crucial help to various clients. Contribute to research, innovative treatments, and policy development. Together, we strive for effective, personal, and short-term treatments for a better quality of life.

• Westerpoort is a follow-up clinic of GGZ inGeest for adults with long-term, severe psychiatric disorders (SMI). In a green and quiet environment, we offer recovery-oriented care to clients who need support in taking the next step.

• In doing so, we look beyond just psychiatric complaints. Who is a person, what is important in his or her life, and what is needed to experience as much control and independence as possible again? Together with the client and their network, we work towards an appropriate follow-up location. This could be protected housing, (supported) independent living, or another clinical facility.

• With personal guidance, a structured weekly program, and individual recovery goals, clients work step-by-step toward their future. Guidance is available 24 hours a day, providing space to combine intensive care with practicing independence.

• You work within a broad multidisciplinary team. This includes activity coordinators, a physician assistant, psychiatrists, doctors, a dietitian, coordinating nurses and supervisors, a cognitive behavioral therapy staff member, exercise therapist, physiotherapist, chaplain, general practitioner, social worker, personal guides, and case managers working together.

• As a psychiatrist at Westerpoort, you are never alone. You work closely with the multidisciplinary team, referrers, clients, and their loved ones. From your psychiatric expertise, you make an important contribution to both the treatment policy and the recovery process of clients.

• You draw up treatment plans and, together with the other practitioners, maintain oversight of progress. You are also responsible for prescribing and monitoring medication. You shape the treatment as much as possible together with the client, keeping an eye on both the psychiatric issues and the person's personal goals and possibilities.

• In complex cases, you are an important sparring partner for your colleagues. You offer consultation and advice and think along about appropriate treatment strategies. In addition, there is plenty of room to share your expertise and to make use of the knowledge of other disciplines.

• Even outside of Westerpoort, you work together with fellow psychiatrists. Within GGZ inGeest, you are part of the clinical team of psychiatrists, which meets regularly to discuss cases, treatments, and developments within the profession. The psychiatrists within the clinics easily seek each other out, share knowledge, and cover for one another where necessary.

• You are BIG-registered as a psychiatrist.

• You will receive a permanent employment contract immediately.

• The position is scaled according to the AMS regulation within the GGZ collective labor agreement (cao ggz).
