Client Council Member

• Representing patient interests towards the Board of Directors and management.

• Reviewing policy documents and contributing to advice for the Board of Directors. An experienced member of the Client Council can guide you in this, if you find that helpful, at the beginning.

• Translating personal experience and practice into advice and policy within the context of the hospital.

• Active participation in the monthly meetings and committee gatherings.

The Client Council is an independent participation body that represents the interests of patients and clients. For the quality of care and services, it is important that patients and clients can exert influence on the policy of the healthcare institution they have chosen. The Client Council provides requested and unsolicited advice to the Board of Directors regarding the policy and the quality of care in the hospital.

Within the Client Council, there are two committees:

1. Quality, Safety, ICT and Innovation

2. Treatment, Communication and Client Panel

The Client Council is visible within the organization and is involved in many activities at MST. The Board of Directors is a direct partner for dialogue.

You are socially engaged, have an affinity for patient interests, and are familiar with the service area of MST. Perhaps you bring experience from your work, your own life, or from involvement in patient care. You find it important to weigh different perspectives and dare to ask critical questions.

In addition:

• you communicate clearly and know how to distinguish between main and secondary issues

• preferably you have knowledge of and affinity with the sub-areas of quality, safety, ICT and innovation

• you can understand and review policy documents, possibly with guidance

• you can argue respectfully and collaborate well

• you have an open and positive attitude, with a critical eye where necessary

• you can defend your viewpoint in a respectful manner and simultaneously accept a majority decision

• you handle meeting documents carefully and confidentially

• you are available for approximately one half-day per week.

• A valuable role in which you contribute to improving the quality of care within MST.

• An open and collegial atmosphere within the Client Council.

• The opportunity to participate in study sessions and training.

• A volunteer allowance.
