The role

For over 175 years, Feadship has been fulfilling the dreams of clients by building the most exclusive superyachts in the world. At our yards in Kaag and Amsterdam, hundreds of specialists work daily on unique technical masterpieces where innovation, craftsmanship, and quality come together. For the Mechanical Engineering department, we are looking for a driven Mechanical Foreman. A practical leader who draws energy from coordinating complex tasks, managing skilled professionals, and realizing high-quality technical installations aboard our superyachts.

What you'll do

As a Mechanical Foreman, you are responsible for the daily management and coordination of mechanical engineering activities within your work area on board. You distribute the work based on the schedule, available capacity, and priorities within the project, and ensure that mechanics can work safely and efficiently. In doing so, you are the first point of contact on the shop floor and support employees in their daily tasks.

You continuously monitor the progress of the work and maintain oversight of quality, safety, and productivity. You identify deviations in planning or execution in a timely manner and take action to resolve technical or organizational bottlenecks. Additionally, you ensure that activities are carried out according to the applicable technical specifications, drawings, quality standards, and safety regulations.

In this role, you work closely with project management, work preparation, engineering, suppliers, and subcontractors. You coordinate activities between the different disciplines on board and ensure that everyone has the correct information to realize the project according to schedule. During daily starts, toolbox meetings, and progress reviews, you discuss the state of affairs, identify risks, and report specifics and points of attention.

Through your presence on the shop floor, you create a safe, positive, and result-oriented working environment in which collaboration is central. In this way, you make an important contribution to achieving project milestones and to the quality of the final end result.
