The role

At De Vries Scheepsbouw Makkum, the jewel of the Frisian economy, we build exceptional Feadships - world-class yachts, fully customized and finished to perfection. From our modern shipyard on the IJsselmeer, we proudly work on projects up to 120 meters. Every detail counts, and everyone's craftsmanship contributes to the final result. Together, we realize yachts that garner admiration worldwide - that is your contribution to the construction of a Feadship.

What you'll do

From a signed contract to a beaming owner on their superyacht - you ensure that everything is technically correct. As a Technical Project Manager, you are an indispensable link in the project team, working side by side with the New Build Project Manager and the Interior, Exterior, and Project Assistant Project Managers. Together, you don't just build a yacht. You build a dream.

Everything that matters technically is under your care: from mechanical systems and electrical to construction and regulations - including design and engineering. You keep the schedule tight, monitor the budget, and know exactly when you need to adjust course.

You switch effortlessly between various internal and external contacts. With the owner's team, you discuss wishes and expectations. You scrutinize the design and the engineering of suppliers and co-builders for both technical and financial feasibility.

You work closely with the Engineering team and the Purchasing department for the correct technical specifications. And for your colleagues at the shipyard (including those from co-builders and sister companies), you are the go-to person they can rely on during the outfitting phase.

In short: you are the technical force that ensures every Feadship yacht does what it was built for - realizing dreams, on every ocean in the world. For this role, we are looking for a Dutch-speaking colleague.

What you bring

You have technology in your DNA. You are not someone who waits - you identify, act, and organize. Furthermore, you recognize yourself in the following competencies:

  • You are able to connect and motivate stakeholders in the process, and you feel at home in an ever-changing environment where the customer's wish is central;
  • A completed technical HBO (higher professional education) degree;
  • Extensive project-based work experience in shipbuilding/yacht building;
  • Detailed subject-matter knowledge in the field of (super)yacht construction;
  • Competencies such as being customer- and service-oriented, persuasive, solution-oriented, collaborative, creative, and stress-resistant describe your personality;
  • You are also good at planning and organizing, possess a helicopter view, have analytical thinking skills, and are communicatively skilled in both the Dutch and English languages, both spoken and written.

Our offer

At De Vries Scheepsbouw, you will join an informal, involved, and family-like organization where people are proud of what they build together. Many colleagues have worked here for years and are happy to help each other further.

  • An inspiring work environment at the top of luxury yacht building, where the characteristics of the family business—such as pride, passion, and belief in each other's abilities—are palpable;
  • Working on superyachts that your friends will be jealous of;
