The role
For over 175 years, Feadship has been fulfilling the dreams of clients by building the most exclusive superyachts in the world. At our yards in Kaag and Amsterdam, hundreds of specialists work every day on unique technical masterpieces. This is where innovation, craftsmanship, and quality come together. For the Mechanical Engineering department, we are looking for a driven Mechanical Engineering Foreman. A practical leader who draws energy from coordinating complex activities. You will lead skilled professionals and realize high-quality technical installations aboard our superyachts.
What you'll do
As a Mechanical Engineering Foreman, you play a key role during the finishing phase of our yachts. You are present on board daily and are responsible for managing a team of fitters within your work area. You distribute tasks, monitor progress, and ensure that installations are realized according to schedule, quality requirements, and safety regulations. You work closely with colleagues from, among others, Electrical Engineering, Construction, Interior Construction, Work Preparation, and Project Management. Additionally, you coordinate activities with suppliers and subcontractors.
Through your technical knowledge and organizational talent, you ensure optimal collaboration. In this way, you resolve bottlenecks before they become problems. In this dynamic environment, you maintain continuous oversight of planning, capacity, quality, and safety. You are the first point of contact on the work floor and actively contribute to a positive, professional, and result-oriented working atmosphere.
What you bring
You are a committed leader with a hands-on mentality. You know how to motivate people, maintain oversight in a complex working environment, and feel responsible for the end result. Additionally, you possess:

- Experience in a supervisory or coordinating role within a technical environment.
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering systems and installations and experience reading technical drawings.
- Good communication skills and a coaching style of leadership.
- A strong sense of responsibility with an eye for quality, planning, and safety.
- Good command of the Dutch or English language.
Experience within shipbuilding, yacht building, offshore, or mechanical engineering is a plus. A VCA VOL certificate is desired, or you are willing to obtain this through us.
