What we're looking for
- At least LBO/MBO working and thinking level;
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar position within ship repair;
- At least in possession of an IWP or IWS diploma or willing to obtain this;
- Familiar with multiple welding processes (MMA, SAW, GMAW);
- Able to read drawings well and independently;
- In possession of VCA VOL, or willing to obtain this;
- Problem-solving ability;
- Good communication skills;
- Leadership and motivating capacities;
- Experience with Excel (in connection with time registration).
Nice to have
- Willing to work in the evening or on the weekend;
- Proficiency in the Dutch and English languages;

What you'll do
The role
Within this role, you will be involved in the preparation, execution, and inspection of the work and you will lead 4 to a maximum of 10 welders. You determine the optimal sequence of work, number of employees, materials, and tools. The focus is on driving production and quality. Where necessary, you will also assist in the work, so that you can maintain your welding skills.
Key accountabilities
- Correct preparation such as determining the sequence of work, capacity planning, and the presence of tools and materials;
- Distributing the work based on the made plans and supervising quality and quantity;
- Leading a group of welders and ensuring that they perform their work properly;
- Ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the work location;
- Following safety and company regulations;
- Giving directions and instructions;
- Thinking along in the context of increasing efficiency and promoting company objectives.
