As a Junior Groundworks Foreman, you will be trained at Strukton Rail to become a fully qualified foreman within Cables and Pipelines. You will start by assisting in the execution and will literally learn the trade from the ground up.
In the first period, you will work alongside experienced technicians and groundworkers. You will lay cables, perform preparatory work, and learn how projects are executed in practice. This is how you build up both technical knowledge and practical experience.
Subsequently, you will shadow experienced foremen. Step by step, you will receive more responsibility and learn how to manage a crew, prepare tasks, and monitor quality and safety. After approximately one year, you will be able to run smaller projects independently. After two years, you will be able to lead larger, integral projects completely independently with your own crew.
• Directing and supervising a crew of groundworkers
• Distributing tasks and monitoring planning and progress
• Checking whether equipment, materials, and resources are present
• Overseeing safe working according to the applicable rules
• Performing measurements and inspections during and after the work
At Strukton Rail, you primarily learn by doing, but you also follow targeted training courses, including: • Cable Layer training
