That is why we offer you:
The role
At De Vries Scheepsbouw Makkum, the jewel of the Frisian economy, we build exceptional Feadships: world-class yachts, fully custom-made and finished to perfection. From our modern shipyard on the IJsselmeer, we proudly work on projects up to 120 meters. Every detail counts, and everyone's craftsmanship contributes to the final result. Together, we realize yachts that garner admiration worldwide. That is your contribution to the construction of a Feadship.
What you'll do
In this role, you will steer all interior aspects during the construction of a Feadship. You ensure that design, engineering, planning, quality, and execution come together into one final result. The construction of a Feadship lasts an average of four years. This means you experience projects closely: from initial design choices to delivery.
You will work within a multidisciplinary project team consisting of, among others, a Project Leader, Technical Manager, Exterior Manager, and other project team members. Together, you ensure that a yacht is delivered according to specifications, planning, and budget.
As Interior Project Manager, you are responsible for all interior-related components within the project. You are the connecting link between client representation, designers, engineers, suppliers, and production.
Your responsibilities include, among other things:
- Supervising all interior aspects from design to delivery;
- Assessing designs and engineering for manufacturability, quality, planning, and budget;
- Translating client wishes and design concepts into feasible solutions;
- Coordinating engineering, production, and procurement within your scope;
- Consulting with designers, co-builders, suppliers, and internal departments;
- Monitoring planning, progress, quality, and costs;
- Supporting production and partners during the outfitting phase as a technical point of contact.
During construction, you will work intensively with various disciplines. Due to the limited space on board, choices within the interior have a direct influence on technical, structural, and execution aspects. This requires overview, coordination, and decisiveness.
What you bring
Experience in yacht building is not a requirement. Candidates from, for example, luxury construction projects, interior construction, retail projects, or other technical project environments can also fit well.
Furthermore, we ask:
- HBO (Higher Professional Education) working and thinking level;
- At least 5 years of experience within a technical and project-based environment;
- Affinity with interiors, outfitting, materials, and high-end finishing;
- Experience with planning, coordinating, and working within complex projects;
- Strong communication skills in Dutch and English;
- Ability to maintain an overview, make decisions, and bring different interests together.
Additionally, you recognize yourself in qualities such as being analytical, pragmatic, collaborative, and decisive.
