Contract Manager

For the travel brand By June, we are looking for a Contract Manager for 40 hours per week, effective immediately!

As Contract Manager, you are responsible for the commercial success of your portfolio. You maintain visibility on performance, see opportunities, understand the figures, negotiate firmly, and adjust where necessary. For you, contracts are not an endpoint. You want to know what they yield and what is needed to improve the result.

This is not a 9 to 5 job. You work in a dynamic, international environment in which speed, results, ownership, and involvement are central. You switch easily with partners all over the world and know how to combine commercial interests with strong, personal relationships.

You are the central point of contact for our partners, such as hoteliers and agencies. You conduct tough substantive discussions and negotiate prices and contract terms, without losing sight of the relationship and the personal character of By June. On average, you are on the road 20 weeks per year and work from the various destinations you source. You do this on the plane, at our agency's office, in the car (at the destination), and when you visit (new) accommodations.
You work in a team consisting of two other Contract Managers and a Product Manager and report to the Manager Contracting and Product. Additionally, you work closely with other colleagues, including colleagues in Content and the Manager By June.

Your contribution

• You hold ultimate responsibility for the commercial result of your portfolio. You maintain continuous visibility on performance and know where opportunities and bottlenecks lie. When an accommodation or destination lags behind, you do not wait, but analyze what is happening and actively adjust;

• You negotiate prices, contract terms, and commercial agreements and ensure that we close the best possible deals. You understand what the agreements you make mean for the final result and dare to make clear choices in that regard;

• You process all your contracts in the contract system (TISS) and work together in this with the other Contract Managers and the Product Manager.

• You are the face of By June towards our partners. You build long-term relationships with hoteliers and agencies, without losing sight of our commercial interests. You know when to negotiate, when to push through, and when the relationship comes first;

• You are responsible for the full follow-up of your agreements and contracts. Signing a contract is not the endpoint for you. You keep an eye on whether agreements are being met, how an accommodation is performing, and which actions are needed to get the maximum out of the collaboration;

• You actively scout for new accommodations and commercial opportunities. At the destination, you drive around with the agent to discover new accommodations. When you are not at a destination, you search online for new potential accommodations to collaborate with;

• You maintain continuous control over your portfolio and the associated figures. You update your Buying Report weekly, calculate prices in our pricing tool, and use data and sales information to determine where you need to adjust;

• You keep a daily eye on the By June website and immediately signal when prices, availability, or other information are incorrect;

• You work closely with the Product team and, together with your colleagues, keep an eye on the market, trends, and developments, so that we can continuously improve our offering.

This position is not for everyone. And that is not a problem at all.

• You should not apply if you are looking for a 9 to 5 job, with fixed workdays and working hours. Our partners are located all over the world and commercial opportunities do not always wait until tomorrow.

• Also not if you are primarily good at closing contracts, but less interested in what happens afterwards. At By June, it is all about results. You follow how accommodations perform, see where opportunities lie, and adjust if necessary.

• If you get little energy from figures, negotiating, and quick decision-making. In this position, you are continuously dealing with results, opportunities, and commercial choices and must understand the consequences of your decisions.

• And if you recognize yourself as passive or reactive instead of proactive.

By June is in our DNA. We are looking for someone who fully embraces that and gets energy from it, and can identify with the brand.

Your working environment

Our By June office is in Badhoevedorp. Here we work together with an enthusiastic and motivated team to grow the brand.

What do we expect from you?

• You take ownership of your portfolio, honor agreements, and feel responsible for the result;

• You are stress-resistant and can switch gears quickly;

• You have a commercial, analytical, and result-oriented attitude;

• You have a flexible working attitude;

• You are willing to travel approximately 20 weeks per year;

• You are not intimidated by quick calculations and you know your way around Excel;

• You possess a higher professional education (HBO) level of working and thinking;

• You have an affinity with tourism;

• Demonstrable work experience in a similar position is a plus;

• You have a good command of the Dutch and English languages, both spoken and written. If you also speak Spanish, Greek, Italian, or Portuguese, that is a great advantage;

• For this position, you need a Certificate of Conduct (VOG) which must be requested before the start of your employment.
