Fifteen years. That is how long a maintenance contract at SWARCO can run. In that case, you want more than just a good agreement on paper. You want a client to know exactly who they can turn to. You want those questions to get an answer, and you want to know how to find each other when things go differently for once. Because while you can sign a contract, you continue to work on a good partnership. As a contract manager at SWARCO, you see the results of the agreements. Today, next year, and for a long time after that.

You manage your own portfolio of management and maintenance contracts for municipalities, provinces, and Rijkswaterstaat. These contracts primarily concern traffic control units and roadside stations. Sometimes it concerns one unit, sometimes twenty. With about sixty to seventy contracts under your care, you have quite a lot to oversee.

You ensure that agreements are met and monitor quality, planning, performance, and financial results. This begins with the proper setup of a contract and continues through everything that follows. You handle periodic invoicing, maintain the contract administration, and discuss with clients how the maintenance is progressing. Does a fault recur frequently and a client wants to know what is going on? Then you investigate that together with your technical colleagues and ensure the client receives a clear answer. Does a field engineer have a question during work regarding a repair with financial consequences? Then they will consult with you.

In addition, you work together with the service desk coordinators, field engineers, and colleagues from technology and product management. The technical specialists contribute their professional expertise, while the coordinators organize the execution. You maintain oversight of what this means for your contracts. During tenders, you contribute ideas regarding maintenance agreements, for example when SWARCO has delivered a traffic control unit for which no maintenance contract has yet been concluded.

You work from Amersfoort, but your clients are located throughout the Netherlands. A client visit in Utrecht or Helmond, drafting reports at the office, or a workplace inspection with colleagues in the field: you largely determine how you schedule your week. During the team meeting, you discuss with your fellow contract managers and supervisor what is happening and where extra attention is needed. Additionally, there is room for your ideas on the way we organize the work. Some working methods are familiar, but perhaps they could be much smarter. You will be given the time to master the contracts and activities. In the first six months, you will get to know the various parts of the work; the more complex clients will initially remain with experienced colleagues. During that onboarding period, you will work from the office, after which you can work from home a maximum of one day per week. Good to know in advance: a field engineer may occasionally call you in the evening, at night, or during the weekend for consultation. You do not work a formal on-call or telephone duty, but we find it important that colleagues can rely on you for such questions.

You feel comfortable in a role where freedom and responsibility go hand in hand. Organizing your own work suits you, as does taking responsibility for the choices you make. You maintain an overview and ensure that agreements are met, even when multiple things are happening at once. In doing so, you work independently, but you also know when to switch gears or coordinate.

You do not need to be a technical specialist, but you do have an interest in the technology behind our services. You ask questions and delve into what you do not yet know.
