Contract Manager
Within Gebr. Van Kessel, we are looking for a decisive Contract Manager. Are you someone who enjoys creating structure, making risks transparent, and providing contractual support to colleagues? As a contract manager, you are involved from the very first moment. A new inquiry comes in? Then you are immediately ready to advise the tender or project manager on contractual opportunities and risks. You analyze, advise, consult, and safeguard: in both the pre-contractual and execution phases. Are there changes during execution? Then you know how to record these carefully and with substantiation for the client.

No two days are the same. One day you are delving into a UAV-GC contract and working with the tender team on a smart proposal. The next day, you are supporting the business office or are operationally involved in handling VTWs (requests for change) or conflict situations as a conflict manager. You check procurement contracts, draft legal documents, and monitor financial obligations. There is room for focus, but certainly also for variety. Not all your time is strictly planned - that gives you the space to take charge and shape the role yourself.

You work closely with a fixed tender team, but at other times, you join the execution phase or provide ad hoc advice on ongoing projects. The content of your day is often diverse and requires entrepreneurship. You choose where you add the most value and know how to deploy your expertise where it is truly needed.

You report directly to the business manager and work closely with fellow contract managers, corporate lawyers, and the head of contract management of Legal Affairs. We regularly share knowledge at a branch or national level, so that we continue to grow together in our profession.

Your qualities
You look critically at contracts, know what you are talking about and what your contractual position is, and can communicate this well to others. You act proactively when obtaining relevant information and are able to quickly build your own network within and outside our organization. Because you stand firm in your shoes and know how to maintain an overview, you know how to steer at the right moments to prevent failure costs or hassle.

• HBO or WO thinking and working level, with a completed legal education or demonstrable experience in contract management;

• Do you have experience in the construction or infrastructure industry;

• Knowledge of the contract forms UAV/RAW, UAV-GC & bouwteams is a plus;

• A communicatively strong, proactive, and solution-oriented work attitude: you see legal challenges not only as a risk, but also as an opportunity;

• Driving license B;

• A good command of the Dutch (and English) language, both spoken and written.
