Are you an experienced Privacy Officer who thrives on a lot of responsibility and freedom? Then we would love to get in touch with you!
As Privacy Officer, you play a key role in translating privacy legislation (GDPR) into daily practice within Baker Tilly. In this role, you are involved in assessing privacy risks for application requests. These can be IT applications but also AI tools and (AI) agents. In doing so, you contribute to innovation at the front end and ensure that privacy-by-design and privacy-by-default are structurally applied. You advise colleagues from practice, ICT, and other staff departments on privacy aspects regarding new developments and act as an important sparring partner for issues surrounding data, technology, and AI.
In addition to this focus on advising and risk assessment, you are responsible for maintaining and further developing the privacy framework, including the record of processing activities and policies. This role requires a high degree of independence because you are the organization's primary Privacy Officer, yet you work closely with IT, Security, and Legal.
Your tasks in a nutshell:
Assessing privacy aspects in application requests, IT projects, and the use of AI tools and agents (privacy-by-design).
Advising stakeholders on privacy risks and appropriate mitigating measures.
Supporting data breaches and incident management.
Managing and further developing the record of processing activities.
Performing and guiding privacy assessments, including DPIAs.
Drafting and updating privacy policies, guidelines, and procedures.
Increasing privacy awareness within the organization, including through training and communication.
Demonstrable knowledge of privacy legislation (GDPR) and affinity with technology, data, and AI.
At least 4–6 years of relevant work experience within privacy, compliance, or a similar field.
Experience assessing IT solutions, digitalization initiatives, and/or AI applications is a strong plus.
Experience with DPIAs and privacy risk assessments.
CIPP/E, CIPM, or similar certification (or willingness to obtain it).
Strong analytical skills and the ability to clearly translate complex issues into practical advice.
Proactive, independent, and able to switch between different stakeholders.
Full command of the Dutch language.
Fortunately, we are all different. Working at Baker Tilly means working for an employer that realizes our differences are exactly what make us stronger. Have we made you enthusiastic about this position, but are you still doubting if it fits you well enough? Then certainly contact one of our recruiters to calmly discuss your doubts and questions together. We would love to hear from you.
You will be working within the Risk & Compliance team and will have a lot of contact with colleagues in practice, IT and security, legal counsels, and the Data Protection Officer.
