Your new job | About your key responsibilities

As a (senior) consultant Business Tax Compliance, you will work within our tax practice with a varied (inter)national client portfolio. You carry significant personal responsibility and are part of an account team that works together to solve complex tax issues. Direct and close contact with clients and the Tax Authorities is an important part of your role, in which you advise and support them.

Within the BTC teams, we handle, among other things, corporate income tax and personal income tax returns; additionally, we utilize AI to identify tax opportunities and actively contribute ideas regarding process optimizations for our clients. This is essential in a time when transparency and accurate delivery of financial data are becoming increasingly important. As a consultant, you:

• Manage a diverse portfolio of (inter)national clients, work closely with the advisory team, and maintain intensive contact regarding their tax position.
• Prepare corporate income tax and/or personal income tax returns and review them thoroughly.
• Discuss the returns directly with clients to determine the most optimal tax strategy.
• Prepare and review tax positions with a view to the annual accounts.
• Identify tax opportunities and provide advice regarding returns to maximize the client's interests.
• Check assessments imposed by the Tax Authorities and handle requests and notices of objection where necessary.

Your office
At EY, you will work from one of our offices spread throughout the Netherlands, including Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht, The Hague, Eindhoven, Arnhem, Hengelo, Zwolle, Groningen, and Maastricht. • Minimum 3 years of work experience in a relevant field;
• You have a completed HBO (higher professional education) degree in Finance, Tax & Advice, Finance & Control, or a WO (university) degree in Tax Law, Tax Economics, or a similar study.
• You have excellent command of both Dutch and English, both orally and in writing. This is essential because in this role you have intensive and direct contact with international clients, where clear communication is crucial.
• Analytical thinking skills and numerical skills are indispensable. You feel comfortable working in Excel and other tools to analyze and process complex tax data.
• Strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and a passion for solving challenging issues make you a valuable interlocutor for our clients.
