Challenging projects with societal impact, spread across the Netherlands;

The role
The Netherlands faces major societal challenges. From dike reinforcements and infrastructural projects to the energy transition and the redevelopment of areas: space is scarce and the interests are great. To realize these challenges, not only good technical solutions are needed, but also an environment in which plans are carefully prepared and involved parties know how to find each other.
As an Environmental Manager at Aveco de Bondt, you play an important role in this. You bring together the interests of clients, governments, local residents, and other stakeholders and ensure that projects are well-prepared and executed from the perspective of the environment. You oversee the various interests, recognize administrative and societal sensitivities, and know how to translate these into concrete solutions.
You work on diverse projects throughout the Netherlands. In doing so, you switch between content, process, and environment and take responsibility for environmental management. With your experience, organizational sensitivity, and persuasiveness, you help projects move forward and contribute to a future-proof living environment.
What you'll do
As an Environmental Manager, you are responsible for organizing and coordinating environmental management within projects. You are an important interlocutor for clients, governments, and other stakeholders. You understand that every party has its own interests and expectations and know how to bring these together in a constructive manner. Want to know a bit more about conditioning?
Your duties include
Drafting and implementing environmental management strategies and plans;
Maintaining contacts with municipalities, provinces, water boards, Rijkswaterstaat, initiators, contractors, and other stakeholders;
Mapping interests, wishes, risks, and points of intersection within projects;
Guiding conditioning studies and processes, for example in the field of soil, ecology, archaeology, cables and pipelines, unexploded ordnance, and permits;
Advising on administrative and societal issues and identifying potential bottlenecks;
Organizing and guiding stakeholder meetings, resident meetings, and other forms of environmental communication;
Coordinating with project leaders, designers, technical specialists, and other involved disciplines;
Contributing to obtaining support and translating interests into concrete requirements and feasible solutions;
Monitoring agreements, procedures, and the progress of environmental management within projects.
Depending on the project, you will work on the client side, where you help to carefully prepare plans and arrive at a permit-ready design, or on the contractor side, where you organize the environmental management during execution. Topics such as BLVC (Accessibility, Livability, Safety, and Communication) can also be part of your duties.
You will be given the space to take responsibility independently, look ahead, and identify bottlenecks early. You do not wait until interests clash, but actively seek opportunities to connect parties and move projects forward.

Who are you?
You are an experienced environmental manager who maintains an overview when interests, procedures, and schedules converge. You know how decision-making works within government organizations, have a good sense of administrative relationships, and can switch between different interlocutors and organizational levels.
You are communicatively strong, take initiative, and dare to take responsibility. In doing so, you combine an analytical eye with a practical attitude: you understand the complexity of an issue, but remain focused on solutions that work in practice.
Additionally, you recognize yourself in our core values:
Social: Together you achieve more. You are involved, know how to connect people, and are open to other perspectives. You find it important to work in an environment where collaboration, fun, and respect are central;
Pragmatic: You love to get stuck in and look for solutions that actually work. No endless theoretical stories, but concrete results that benefit the client and the environment;
Entrepreneurial: You have courage and see opportunities where others might see obstacles. You think ahead, dare to propose new ideas, and take the initiative to shape the future.
