Environmental Manager

At Van Hattum en Blankevoort North region, as an environmental manager, you will be given the space and responsibility to ensure projects run smoothly from tender through to realization.

Working from our office in Diemen, you will work on projects in North Holland and Utrecht, at the intersection of water safety, urban construction, and mobility. Think of:

• Public transport hubs (OV-knooppunt Haarlem Nieuw-Zuid)

• Large pumping stations (gemaal Oostoever)

• Movable bridges (Cruquiusbrug)

What do these projects have in common? Complex technology, a challenging environment, and many stakeholders.

As a mid-level environmental manager, you are independently responsible for environmental management on one or more projects. You are active in the:

• Tender phase - thinking along about approach, risks, and opportunities

• Design phase - coordination with stakeholders and the project team

• Realization phase - ensuring support and minimal nuisance

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

• Stakeholder management (municipalities, residents, businesses, and other interested parties)

• Participation and communication (conversations, meetings, handling questions and reports)

• Permits, procedures, and conditioning

• Internal coordination with project teams

• Identifying environmental risks and translating them into concrete measures

You work independently on projects, but always in close cooperation with tender managers and project managers.

You already have experience in the field and know what it means to work in a complex environment. Furthermore, you recognize yourself in:

• A number of years of relevant experience as an environmental manager or in a similar role

• Strong communication skills

• A sense for interests and relationships

• A proactive and structured way of working

• Affinity with infra, civil engineering, or construction

• You take responsibility, dare to make choices, and keep a cool head when pressure increases
