Lead Civil Structures Engineer

• At least 8 years of experience in designing structures in concrete and hydraulic engineering, preferably (partially) with a civil contractor.

• A completed degree at HBO level (higher professional education) or higher, preferably in civil engineering.

• Extensive experience with calculation programs such as SCIA Engineer.

• You provide direction to a team without taking over the work.

• You explain technical choices clearly, both to a site manager and to a client.

• A salary between €5,500 and €8,500, depending on your skills and experience.

As a lead engineer at a consultancy, you influence the choices, but not the construction. At a contractor, you are involved in all phases.
Aveco de Bondt (consultancy): you assess designs, advise on variants, and act as a technical sparring partner for public clients such as municipalities and water boards.

Van Hattum en Blankevoort (realization): you are responsible for the (outsourced) design, calculation, and development of structures for regional projects, and you test them for safety. What you approve, gets built.

You bring execution knowledge to the advisory table and advisory sharpness to the construction site.

• You hold ultimate responsibility for the (outsourced) design, calculation, and development of civil structures in concrete and hydraulic engineering.

• You test designed structures for safety.

• You provide technical direction to engineers and modelers and check their work.

• In project teams, you are the point of contact for all design questions, in direct connection with work preparation and execution.

• You assess designs from third parties and act as a discussion partner for clients.

• You coach junior and medior engineers and drive knowledge development within VHB's civil design department and Aveco de Bondt's structural team.

The common factor: water quality, water safety, and mobility.

Aveco de Bondt: design and assessment of bridges, pumping stations, and concrete structures, and structures for sewage treatment plants and energy stations. Always with an eye for integral and sustainable solutions.

VHB, regional branch Holten: the same. Think of concrete projects such as the Vloedstegenbrug, Reinwaterkelder Spannenburg, and RWZI Enschede.

• You are a registered engineer and independently assess structures for safety.
