Structural Advisor Earthquake Dossier

As a structural advisor, you will apply your knowledge within projects surrounding the reinforcement task in Groningen. In doing so, you will look not only at the technical aspects, but also at the people affected by them. Do you have a solid structural background, several years of experience, and do you enjoy taking responsibility within projects? Then we would love to meet you.

As a structural advisor, you will work on diverse structural issues within the reinforcement task in Groningen. You are strong in content, but also know how to move a project from A to B. Your activities will include:

• Assessing existing homes and reinforcement advice;

• Drafting and assessing structural advice and solutions;

• Translating technical issues into clear and actionable advice;

• Coordinating and supervising activities within projects;

• Monitoring progress, quality, and agreements made;

• Liaising with colleagues, structural engineers, executing parties, and NCG (National Coordinator Groningen);

• Guiding projects and, depending on your experience, acting as a project manager;

• Communicating clearly about technical issues with both professional peers and non-technical interlocutors.

• A salary between €3,856 and €6,387 gross per month (based on 40 hours and depending on experience);

We are not looking for a starter who still needs to fully discover the profession. By now, you have put in the necessary miles and can independently tackle a structural issue. In doing so, you will receive a lot of responsibility. We do not expect you to only observe what needs to happen structurally. It is precisely your ability to maintain an overview, bring interests together, and get things done that makes the difference. You have:

• A completed HBO (higher professional education) degree in the field of Civil Engineering or similar;

• Several years of relevant work experience within construction, structural advice, or a similar environment;

• Experience in independently guiding or coordinating projects;

• Preferably experience as a project manager, structural project manager, or project coordinator;

• The ability to bring different interests and disciplines together;

• Good communication skills and a practical attitude.

Experience with projects within earthquake damage, reinforcement, or the Groningen construction task is naturally interesting, but as far as we are concerned, not the only criterion. An experienced structural professional who is used to taking responsibility and managing projects can be at least as interesting.
