The role

The Netherlands is built on a vulnerable subsoil. That is precisely why insight into existing foundations is crucial. As an existing foundation investigation advisor, you help determine the condition of houses and buildings, and what is needed to keep them future-proof.

You assess the foundations of houses and buildings, supervise investigations, and translate technical findings into clear advice. In doing so, you work closely with inspectors, clients, and contractors.

Whether you are a starter or already have experience: you primarily learn this profession in practice. We are looking for people with an interest in structural engineering or geotechnics who are analytically strong and dare to take responsibility.

What you'll do

As a foundation investigation advisor, you are responsible for assessing and interpreting foundation situations in houses and buildings. You combine substantive analysis with project supervision and client contact.

Your duties include:

  • Assessing existing foundations of houses and buildings;

  • Analyzing research data and inspection results;

  • Supervising foundation investigations from A to Z;

  • Preparing clear reports and advice;

  • Contact with clients, contractors, and field staff;

  • Advising on subsidence, damage, and risk assessments;

  • Thinking along about solutions within complex projects.

You primarily work in the office in Amstelveen or Nieuwegein, with occasional visits to project locations and clients. Partial working from home is also possible. The combination of technology, consultation, and practice makes the work varied.

Why this work matters

The market for existing foundations is in full motion. Due to changing regulations and increasing attention to housing quality, the need for specialist foundation investigation is growing rapidly. Did you know that since April 1, 2026, the role of foundation assessment has become increasingly important within real estate processes and appraisals? This makes this work not only technically interesting but also socially relevant.

Projects you can work on

You will work on diverse projects, from individual homes to large-scale area developments. Curious? Feel free to take a look at one of our projects:

No project is standard. Every issue requires customization, technical insight, and a careful assessment of the situation on-site.

No specific training as a foundation advisor is required for this position. However, a strong technical foundation is important.

Additionally, you recognize yourself in our core values:

  • Social: Together you achieve more. You are involved, know how to connect people, and are open to other perspectives. You find it important to work in an environment where collaboration, fun, and respect are central;

  • Pragmatic: You love to get stuck in and look for solutions that actually work. No endless theoretical stories, but concrete results that benefit the client and the environment;

  • Entrepreneurial: You have courage and see opportunities where others might see obstacles. You think ahead, dare to propose new ideas, and take the initiative to shape the future.
