The role

How do you keep the Netherlands connected? Without timely land acquisition, new high-voltage stations, cable connections, and grid reinforcements cannot be realized. As a Land Affairs Advisor, you ensure that projects become legally feasible and contribute directly to the energy transition and a future-proof electricity grid in the Netherlands.

As a Land Affairs Advisor, you play an important role in the realization of new high-voltage connections, stations, and grid reinforcements. You ensure that TenneT obtains the necessary land, rights, and agreements in a timely manner to make projects possible. In doing so, you navigate a complex environment in which you interface between landowners, project teams, governments, land managers, and legal specialists. You combine legal expertise with stakeholder management and ensure that diverse interests are brought together in a careful and professional manner. And you lay a legally sound foundation for our projects and contribute to securing the sustainable location of our assets.

What you'll do

Additionally, you are responsible for, among other things:

  • Maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, in which you carefully weigh interests.
  • Following developments in private law and translating them into operational risks and opportunities.
  • The legal assessment of policy and frameworks within projects
  • In the senior role, you act as a private law project leader for medium-sized new and renovation projects of TenneT within 110/150 kV and 380 kV projects. In doing so, you manage time, money, and quality and ensure predictable and professional execution.
  • You advise management on the implementation of new and existing policy and on positions to be taken.
  • You draw up project plans and budgets and coordinate these with the client
  • You direct project team members and external parties, including land managers and appraisers, where necessary.
  • You are the substantive point of contact and knowledge carrier for one of the core processes within the department.

Additional requirements

  • You have a higher professional education (HBO) level of working and thinking, preferably in a legal, land management, or real estate-related direction.
  • You have more than five years of experience in a similar position within a technical or infrastructural environment.
  • Experience with expropriation and tolerance procedures is a strong plus.
  • You have experience leading or coordinating medium to large projects within an acquisition or legal context, with an eye for diverse interests.
  • You have excellent command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written.
